Osprey87 (1578) - WALES - AUG 13, 2014
Cask at GBBF. Thick black, no head. Not much going on in the aroma. Body is medium, low carbonation, smooth. Taste is light vanilla bourbon, touch of neopolitan icecream, no alcohol. Finishes light, but an assertive hop bitterness builds over time. Sometimes beers in this style can be overly harsh, but this is very smooth. If anything, it is a bit underflavoured. Disappeared very quickly.

Scopey (6651) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 13, 2014
Cask as "infamous imperial chocolate stout" at GBBF2014. It pours opaque black with a tiny tan head. The nose is rich chocolate, oily, roasted malt, coffee, espresso and salted caramel. The taste is rich, hard roast, spicy, coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol heat, oily, salt liquorice, earthy, with a dry, roasty finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich, slick and oily. Rather nice.

On tap at Boulder Strong Ale Fest (2014). Pour is deep black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Big coffee, vanilla, cocoa, roast, toffee, and somewhat grassy aroma. Taste is cocoa nibs, earthy hops, Sumatra, caramel, vanilla, and toasted malt. Sweet velvety mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Awesome stout and easily one of the best offerings of the fest.

On tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest 2014. Pours a black appearance with a brown head. Dark chocolate, quite toasty aroma definitely with some spicy, piney hops. Moderate bitterness. Some sweetness but not bad. Burnt, chocolate flavor. A bit of vanilla. Pretty nice and enjoyable to drink.
