GABF 2010, great name average beer. dark pour, citrusy hops, roasted malts. it was kind of spritzy, high carbonation. medium mouthfeel. Not up to the very high standard that they have set for themselves

draft. inky nose with light malted milk balls w/ medium soy/roast astringency. syrupy and thick, but thatís expected. medium+ roast, medium bitterness, mild alcohol. horribly underattenuated. syrupy, cloying, messy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Roasted biscuits, raisins and resinous hops merge for a smooth Imperial Stout experience which ends with the combined bitterness of grassy hops and roasted malts.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thick layer of foam tops the darkest brown.
-This pint is easy to down for an 8% brew.
-The biscuity cereal character is redolent of oatmeal.
-Coffee flavours emerge, as well as those of mild chocolate.
-The palate is that of a hefty pillow. Very comfy.
On tap at the brewpub.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft PP Solana Beach: Dark pour, dense thick coating of tan...subtle sweet nose of caramel. Flavors are remarkably balanced, dark malts, a little licorice, strong yet balanced piney or maybe even minty hop bitterness...glad the roastiness and most of the other attributes of a mid level abv. stout were absent...leaving just a very drinkable imperial stout experience.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at PP Solana Beach. Dark stout looking beer. Nose is dark fruit. Taste has lots of things going on. Dark roasted malt and fruit. Feels like effing velvet in the mouth. Little bitterness. Long afters. Chocolate and coffee hiding. Molasses? Hops? Good brew.
