On tap@Port Solana: Pure black color with a small light brown head. Aroma is Chocolaty with a hint of smoke. Flavor starts rich and dark chocolate sweet followed by a black coffee and bakers chocolate bitter finish. Full body is rich, smooth and creamy with soft carbonation.

On tap @ PP Solana Beach. Black pour with a frothy tan head which leaves sheets of lacing down the sides of the glass. Aroma is chocolate, roast, coffee, supporting hop bitterness, and a soft, dry malt backbone. Taste is bitter chocolate/coffee with roast, perhaps some oat, pine, and a bit of alcohol heat. Even and creamy mouthfeel with a precise flavor profile. Very well done imperial stout with a sharp hop bitterness and chocolate roast character.

Draught at Sour & Bitter 2012. Pitch black - offwhite head. Coffee, chocolate, ok malty, light sharpness, light alcoholic, coconut notes, nice high hoppy finish.

Draught. Pitch black coloured. Dense brown head. Light roast, cocoa, light coffee, chocolate, spice, brown sugar. Flavour of roast, cocoa, spice, liqourice, coffee, herbs. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a roasted and spiced bitterness. Nice.

Tap at port. Pours black with a creamy beige head, spotty lacing. Roasted malts with pine and an assertive hop nose. Some roasted malts and dark fruits in there as well.a very interesting brew, much different than expected.

Draft PP Solana Beach: Dark pour, dense thick coating of tan...subtle sweet nose of caramel. Flavors are remarkably balanced, dark malts, a little licorice, strong yet balanced piney or maybe even minty hop bitterness...glad the roastiness and most of the other attributes of a mid level abv. stout were absent...leaving just a very drinkable imperial stout experience.

Draught at Solana Beach. Black with a tan head. Big piney and fruity hop nose mixing with lots of dark chocolate and coffee roasted grain. Robust and somewhat balanced, but not overly sweet at all. Nice chocolate covered citrus finish. I love the mix of flavors and wish more brewers were making stuff like this.

OLD GABF. Chocolate burnt and flowers. Flavor goes burnt and relatively dry to finish. PRetty hoppy and really good.

On tap at Pizza Port (Carlsbad) with Andy, James and Dallas for Dallas’ bachelor weekend. Black pour with a light caramel head. Faint aroma of chocolate, but not a ton else on the nose. Palate is very hoppy and body is light to medium with crispness and high carbonation. Easily drinkable and refreshing.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty. Light liqourice note. Dense maæty and caramelish to liqourice. Bitter and dry roasted malty into the finish.
