Sample @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a very small white head that doesn’t leave much trace when dissipating. Smell is sweet and fruity with mango, pineapple, caramel, pine, grass, bread and orange peal. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with bread, pine, mango, papaya, pineapple, orange peal, resin and wood. Mouthfeel is round, oily bitter and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with pine, grass and pineapple.

On tap at S&B. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Fruity hop aromas. Fruity hops with a solid caramel malt backbone. Good balance with a nice mouthfeel. A nice pale ale.

Defreni (2712) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2012
Fad: Orange klar øl med et lille skumhoved. Duften er rigtig god med en del mango, men smagen lever ikke helt op til duften. Men også hårdt for en APA sidst på aftenen. Lidt tynd mundfylde.

Bready and citric finish. Light to medium bodied.

Cask @ PP/C’bad. Clear, light orange pour and a creamy white head with good retention and leaving heavy lace. Fruity nose (melon, grapes, apples). Medium-light body and light carbonation, both of wwhich hold up through the finish. Toast, light citrus and pine and lots of fruit: grapes, melon, berries, mango. More aromatic and perhaps not as balanced as SN Green, but this is an excellent and sessionable APA.

papajohn (1249) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - DEC 30, 2011
On tap at Port Carlsbad: Pale golden color with a medium white head. Flavor starts sharp citrus with very little sweetness and a bone dry bitter orangy finish. Light-medium body is crisp with lively carbonation.

Clear golden color with white foam. Nice floral, citrus, pine aromas. Light to medium bodied. Big hoppy grapefruit, pine, tropical fruit flavors on a clean pale malt base brew--all about hops

Phone rate. Tap at Carlsbad PP. Clear gold with a 1 1/2 finger off-white head, good retention and good lacing. Bright citrus rind nose with pine and floral hops, some ale yeast notes, biscuit malts behind, no sweetness. Flavor follows suit with the rinds and pine, bitterness peaked at a 7 in the bone dry finish. No sweetness. Low creamy carbonation with a light body. Good, but too much bitterness.

alagnak (467) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - SEP 20, 2010
Draft @ Falling Rock. Nose is Sweet bitter tropical fruit - Mago, Papaya - with a lightly grassy/juniper-ish note there, too. Flavor is just out of this world good for an APA. Super-crisp and floral hops, with just enough malty bread to hold it up. @ 6% abv, that’s a hell of a brewer. I would drink gallons of this.
