beastiefan2k (1182), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jul 19, 2008 jjpm made my beer dream come true when he reached out and got this beer for sharing. I am extremely grateful, thank you very much. The beer pours with a fizzy head that quickly fades into the solid block of dark amber color. Cannot see through the beer at all and after all remnants of the head fade it looks very still. Aroma is great right off the bat and I was happy this would be one of those special beer experiences. Its very woody (what a second...) with tart red grape skins and musky red cherries. Not sweet but plenty of tart and funk. As soon as you taste it light acidity hits the cheeks to prepare you for the flavor. Then there is lots of light sour, funky cherries. Then comes a tart finish with lingering acidity. A lightly aged, faintly chocolate maltiness underneath all that. Its really just divine to drink. Very easy beer with a long light tart aftertaste. Awesome, thanks again John.

I feel myself saying this alot lately but i could have used a little more sour here which i felt would have made this one superb. Great stuff. railcat1 (505), Hammond, Indiana, USA Oct 25, 2008 I love sours and this was a very good one with a nice pale broish head with a nice complex taste of citrus strawberry and grass and a tart finish to this was a nice surprise and i am looking forward to trying it again.CHEERS! ogglethorp (804), Ohio, USA Sep 12, 2008 Bottle shared by moejuck, Cleveland tasting. Pours a cloudy straw color with a smallish beige colored head. Aroma is oaky, citrus, grass, straw. Flavor is again oaky, citrus, grass, straw, light cherry. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished tart and tangy-like. Beautiful! fiver29 (365), Strongsville, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2008 Tasted at Cleveland tasting on 8-23-08. Thanks!! Bottle pours cloudy amber in color with a off white head. Has a nice woody aroma. I am sensing almost cork like aromas. I also get some citrus on the nose as well. Taste is amazing on this brew. It is a sharp up front wood and oak flavor, followed by cherry flavor. The finish in a blend of the two. These flavors are very pronounced and you can’t mistake the wood and cherry flavors from each other. Overall a fantastic brew. JMFG (1202), Florida, USA Aug 22, 2008 Sampled at RBSG, courtesy cquiroga. Slightly cloudy amber color, light tan head. Pungent fruity aroma, oak and licorice, very light funk. The taste had much more of a funk component to it than the aroma. Thick malt base over oaky funk and sour fruitiness. A nice complex sour.
