4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
RBSG09 ’04 vintage on the bus courtesy of cquiroga. Pours orange with an amber tinge. Watery white head leaves smattered lacing. Big crabapple and lemon aroma with an obvious woodiness. Flavor is similar with the sour acidic fruits. Not all that sour but rather very tart. Woody dryness in the finish.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
In short: An intense sour and acidic blonde ale with a gueuze character. Great stuff.
How: Bottle 750ml. O5 vintage. Post-EBF 2009 tasting. I believe from EyeDrinkAle. That dude is amazingly resourceful
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is funky acidic, almost gueuze-like. Taste is very very wild. Again almost gueuze-like. Green apples, lemon, barnyard funkiness, very acidic, very sour. A little cleaning product (Pledge™) note but that can happen with over the top funky sour ales. Very intense although not extremely complex. I’m so happy I had a chance to taste it. Aging extremely well. Nowadays the American sour ales with a lambic-like character are getting more common and more complex but quality-wise Le Woody is still up there with the best of them. But Le Woody was there before this whole crazy trend. Le Woody is a pre-Nirvana dude with ripped jeans and flannel shirt looking miserable.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by EDA, thanks Mike. Pours a hazy golden body with a lightly tart apple chardonnay body a bit reminiscent of nail polish removal (somehow its not bad tho). Tart with some light pineapple notes, hints of oak and vanilla citric dry with a low acidity. Delicious overall.

Shared by EDA. Thanks Mike. Yellowish color. Low to medium sourness. Very odd aroma and flavor, tough to put my finger on it...

Bottle. [Tasting @ Papsoe 20-10-2008] Small bubbly white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Cloudy golden orange color. Aroma of leather, perfume, soap, barnyard, fruit, rubber, wheat. Heavy sour vinegar, citrus and fresh apple over the palate. Full bodied with a sparkling carbonation and dry texture. Heavy acidic flavor with good counter sweetness. Lingering sour rubber and leather finish.
