Bubbles struggle to the surface to eventually form a tightly-woven ring. Potent hop nose of candied orange rind and glazed pinewood. Lush with soft, tight carbonation. Brashly textured with dryly-bitter herbal hops, which are beautifully rounded by a succulent dab of tangerine fruitiness. Sweet resins muffle the already-low acidity. Continually sharp underlay of shaved orange peel bitterness towers over the lightly-woody toasty pale malt notes. Raw sugarcane compounds the coarsely herbal texture. Clean, minty alcohol imparts an evergreen effect to the piney hop accents while accentuating the dryness before giving way to a crescendo of bitterly-herbal hops and pinewood with just enough orange-pith juiciness to balance the forceful hop impact. Wonderful stuff. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2005 Earthy rotting vegetable component to the aroma plus what seems to be a huge Simcoe presence (love that intense mutated pine sharpness!). Slippery, full body. Great carbonation level. Buttery tastes(possible diacetyl according to my buddy, but I think that’s just sturm and drang), and it works for me nonetheless. Nice. Not Frank level in terms of lovely fruity nuances. Thanks again to the one, the only! aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA

Beautiful bouquet of hop resins and a hint of malt. very nice pleasant hop bitterness that makes me smile. Oh and did I mention the hops? CaptainCougar (5549), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma is plenty hoppy and citrusy with good malt backbone. Starts with a caramel malty sweetness and gritty/sugary texture well balanced with a fresh green hoppiness leading to a crisp, dry bittersweet finish. A very nice double IPA and another winner from Pizza Port. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
