Tart dried fruit. Watery but drinkable. Nice dark color with cascading white head (draft). Not my favorite of the style.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft - dark brown pour. Nose and taste of raisins, dark fruit, and malt. Flavors are a little off and a little too "champaigny" to be anything more than slightly below average for the style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Mahogany pour with a khaki head. Rich caramel and toffee, lots of raisin, a hint of cinnamon, and plenty of toast on the nose. Fairly sweet flavor. Lots of caramel, toffee, and raisin. A bit of chocolate, banana, nice spice note, but a touch of sawdust. Slight peanut butter, too.

Does a really good job as hommage to the greats, whilst still being only 8%. Bready, dark fruits, spicy yeast and a dry, rich finish. Like drinking a Quad at Dubble ABV levels.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown color. Very yeasty, dry malty nose with lots of candy sugar, fairly sweet. Very malty, dark fruit, brown sugar, and slightly strong. Well balanced, but slightly lacking character. Still very nice.

> Surprisingly drinkable, dark bready Quad
[ Tap ][ Pizza Port Ocean Beach ][ 4oz ][ Mini Stange ][ $2 ][ 2/25/14 ]
>> Clear deep amber pour, ring of foam. Nose is mild, dark bread, light sugar, crusty sweet roll, black cherry. Taste is malty, bready, not too sweet, not boozy either. Drinkable, almost Abbey Dubbel with chocolate banana. Much better than I expected.
