On draft at Carlsbad Pizza Port 02/01/08. Virtually no head, dark amber in color. Not much aroma, some malty, toasted bread scent. Flavor is heavy on the malt with a bit of smoked peat taste. Overall largely sweet in character and surprisingly easy to drink at almost 9.5%.

On tap at Port Solana, shared with WeeHeavySD. Dark reddish-brown with a slight tan head that fades quickly. Sweet malt aroma. The taste is also sweet, of malt and a bit of yeast, hops, and dark fruit coming through. Lingering toastyness. Quite tasty.

Sampled @ Port Solana. Listed as Old Moby Strong Ale. Pours dark brown with a tan ring. Sweet viscous nose, and thats matched with a nice sweet and rich taste. Very nice brew. Shared with Dalekliz

Sample on tap@Port Solana: Deep dark root beer color with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Flavor starts rich and caramel sweet followed by toffee and a hint of smoke with a mild bitterness in the finish. Medium body is creamy with soft carbonation. Almost too easy to drink for a strong ale.

Listed on the board as brewed by PP Solana Beach but served at Carlsbad for my pint. Poured a clear deep copper color with red highlights and an off-white head. Semi-sweet aroma with some notes of dark fruit. The flavor was big with notes of plums and raisins. Mildly sweet and very warming. Medium bodied and quite tasty.

tap at papago... listed as old ale. very dark brown color with a thin white head. aromas of caramel, grain, wood, raisins and spicy british-like hops. lightly sweet flavor follows aroma with additional characteristics of toffee and yeast. the finish is surprisingly dry. medium body with an almost sticky mouth feel that borders phlegmy. tastes rather british...
