4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deepest, darkest, stygian, fully opaque, with a considrable, cocoa-tannish head. Frightening? No, invitening...
Aroma is deep, rich, sweet, molasses, nuts, dark fruit, ...a touch woody, as well, ...delightful spices, ...sublime...
Full attack on the mouth, a sweet, caramel-y, nearly treacly, but utterly sumptuous...cheeries speak up, prunes take a turn, a taste of carob. A wondrous ride in the mouth, a tour through sensational tastes.
Fullest of bodies, long, fruity, thick, rich finish.
Dangittidang this is goodness!
Yum, yummity, yum, yum!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pour is dark cola looking brown with a big at first tan head, fading into a nice thin in the middle yet thick around the glass cocoa colored ring...smell is sweet and just damn intense...grapes, earth fruits, definately some cocoa, some yeast and cellarish aromas too...wow what flavor...initially some prunes and grapes quickly fading into raisins fading into raisin bread fading into rich pumpernickel dough to yeast to bitter yeast...oh yeah, a touch of sweet raisin and alcohol in the finish...this is top ten material for me...

thanks to lumpy for this. bloody rusted pour with a large tan head. yeasty chocolate cherry bonbon aroma with a hint of liquor. i like the aroma, it has hints brownies and cherries jubilee. earthy yeast flavor with potato, banana, celery, and an understated sweetness. odd flavors yet they work. this is a good beer. there is a lot going with this sucker. finish is more yeast with a rummy quality and soime vanilla. as it gets some temperature this explodes, WOW. blueberry, and seschwan chicken, and cherry cobbler, WOW. a great beer. i could go on about this, but i canít

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2007 Boy I love a Quad. Poured deep red with a small head that left quickly. Aromas of dark fruits and molasses. More roasty flavors in the flavor with a lot of sugar cane. Molassas and brown sugar tied it together for a wonderful aftertaste that masked the ABV very well. Yummy Yummy Yummy.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle courtesy of Walt. Appearance-very dark brown with a thin foamy head. Taste-very raw, notes of prune, berries, cola, amber candi sugar. Unusually high amount of bitterness for a Quad, and it works well. Some chocolate covered cherry and cough syrup. This gets much, much nicer and more complex as it warms.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
yet another fantastic port beer!
Pours a nice brown color with a decent off white head and wonderfuly large amounts of lacing. The aroma consists of caramel, toffee and a variety of fruits (including- raspberries and cherries). The flavor is similar to the aroma with hints of roasted nuts and a slight alcohol taste at the end!

Thanks to Dark Elf for supplying me with this amazing beer. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of nutmeg, sugar, cherries, toffee and figs. Tastes of plums, rasberries, blackberries, figs, dates and nuts. Not the most amazing example of this style, but still an incredible beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Rich dark mahogony with a big light beige head. Sweet malt aroma with some yeastiness. Rich fruity (dates/raisins) flavor with malt leading into a nice yeasty spiciness and some chocolate. Alcohol definately there. Lingering sweetness. Missing some complexity.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle corked. Thanks to Oakes for sharing this one. Dark brown, purplish tint with a thick tan head. Massive malty aroma, dark plums, candi sugar. Flavour is very sweet, plums and cherries along with some light oakiness. Light sourness on the front as well. A little spicy. Itís a good beer, but itís not a great beer. Thereís still way too much residual sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very dark brown colour. Large head. Sweet, malty, lightly spicy (nutmeg) aroma with hints of peach and splashes of vanilla. Warm, malty, soft but effervescent body. Dark fruity overtones and alcoholic undertones. Quite a bit of sugars remain, and the finish has a tart fruitiness that while not especially enjoyable on its own, does seem to indicate along with the residual sugars a half-finished beer. Which, of course, it is.
