3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Defreni (2069) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2012
Fad: Kulsort øl med et fint skumhoved. Duften er meget brændt og asket. Lidt for meget til min smag. Smagen er meget asket, igen en tand for meget, men ellers en fin øl. Den fadlagrede udgave var helt klart bedre.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ThirstyMedic (4) - Carlsbad, California, USA - APR 24, 2012 does not count
On cask at PP Carlsbad. Pitch black pour with fluffy beige head. Roasty wood aroma with touches of chocolate. Insanely creamy and smooth mouthfeel. They served this one at the perfect temperature to be able to separate and appreciate all the different levels of this brew. Creamy, velvet milk chocolate meets bitter roasted patent malts. There are some very subtle undertones of dark fruits and coffee that make this brew so dynamic. Quality stuff. They need to barrel age this thing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 joeneugs (2176) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 4, 2012
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Maybe I shouldn’t have had the two variations of this first, because after those, this tasted very average for the style. It pours black with a light brown head. The aroma has lots of cola and dark chocolate. The flavor is the same with lots of dark chocolate but a very simple sweetness that again reminds me of cola. It has a decent mouthfeel. Not bad, but only average for an impy stout.
