Served on tap at Port OB. The appearance is a pale golden hue with a slight brown tint. White lacing head. The aromas are drying bitter hops and a light floral scent. The flavors are hop forward as you would expect.. Some orange flavors on entry lead to a very dry and bitter middle. A decent floral dose in the finish and aftertaste. The mouth is really drying. A good clean American pale ale.

This beer was my first at Pizza Port in Ocean Beach. I love this place. I’ll review it a little later. Right now for 125. It pours a clear golden color with white head that is constantly fed by carbonation bubbles migrating from the bottom. Light lemony citrus bouquet. Mouthfeel is cottony and full. Mild flavors of citrus and pine. Quintessential pale ale.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a foamy white head with good retention and lace. Aromas are somewhat hoppy but not super aggressive. Floral, citrus, orange and grassy. Low malt. Flavors are slightly faded, bready malt, tamarind, citrusy, floral. Grainy. Assertively bitter, low bodied, medium-full carbonation.

Tap sample. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced aroma. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Solid session brew.

[on tap at OB Pizza Port] Fresh citrus and pine hops aroma with an apricot note. Clear gold under some fine, white lace. Sweet base malt flavour with some US hops and a medium bitterness that lingers. The hops are a bit subdued in the flavour, compared to the aroma. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, moderate bitter finish.

125th Anniversary Pale. Tap at OB Pizza Port. Clear amber with a small off-white head, fading to a ring quickly. A nice head does rouse, and stay a while. Flavor is mainly pine hops, some floral and lighter citrus following. Just a little lightly toasted bread for malt. Bone dry, bitterness at a 4. Aroma of pine and lightly sweet orange peel once it warmed up a bit. Does have the perfumey floral of the flavor as well. Not much in the way of malt in the aroma. Moderate prickly carbonation with a light body. A piney pale--maybe a little too much paired with the bitterness (and not enough malt )for me to drink a ton of. 7-4-7-3-13--3.4

Cask at the SD Real Ale Fest 2012. Hazy golden pour, slightly orange, with a white head. Nice grain bread backbone, citrus, grassy hops, and lightly sweet caramel. Very drinkable, and a nice break from some big beers.
