Cho-Saiko is radical in Japanese surf slang. This is OB’s house Double IPA. Cho-Saiko is brewed year round as long as there is fermentation space. It is a big beer with big hop character. Dry hopped with five different hops to add to the hop experience. 1.082 SG 1.010 FG

Tap at port OB. Pours a clear deep golden Orange with a frothy white head that left some great lacing. Lots of resin and bitter citrus hops. Flavor was quite bitter with resiny hops, long bitter finish. Damn tasty.

Darker golden pour, sticky white head. Grapefruit, pine, resinous hops, sweetness, citrus, and some malt. Well made, but rather typical IIPA. Hop centered, only slight balanced with malt, but not a complete hop bomb.

Pours a orange with a fizzy white head. Aroma is raw herbal hops citrus malt pine and resin. Flavor is resiny piney hops, grapefruit, citrus, herbal bitterness which overpowers the sturdy malt backbone. No growlers ;(

Pours hazy burnt orange with a thin white head that leaves specks of lace. Smells sweet and resiny with some big citrus notes and a dose of alcohol. Tastes bitter and citrusy with a bit of sweetness. Good dose of astringent hops and alcohol as well. Good but not easy drinkin’.Medium/full body with good carbonation.

Served on tap at Port OB. The appearance is a golden brown with a nice lacing white head. Nice West Coast IIPA full of grapefruit and pine esters. Moderate malt backing. Not overly bitter or drying. No surprise here, another well done IIPA from the Port crew.
