COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cho-Saiko is radical in Japanese surf slang. This is OB’s house Double IPA. Cho-Saiko is brewed year round as long as there is fermentation space. It is a big beer with big hop character. Dry hopped with five different hops to add to the hop experience. 1.082 SG 1.010 FG

Nice DIPA. Copper orange color, with a strong hoppy aroma and flavor. Probably my favorite sample at Stone’s 14th Anniversary Festival. So good, I went back for seconds.

Draft @ pizza port ob. Slightly hazed bronze, thin lacey off-white head. Minty hop nose with a little plump fruit and maybe some basil too. Flavors are again quite herbal with the hops, dry too, and fucking bitter. Clingly minty bitterness sticks around for a long while and the high abv makes it feel big and full...combines a bit too heavy for me...the herbal hop characteristics are interesting and pretty focused and clean, it’s just a big, bold, alcoholic, and hoppy beer and I’m too old for that.

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a pale orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity hoppy bitter grapefruit aroma. Fruity thick malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a fruity malty and very hoppy bitter grapefruit finish.

On tap @ Pizza Port Ocean Beach: Poured with a perfect half inch layer of foam while the liquid was a golden color. The aroma was overly hopped with a scent of citrus. The palate was dry and had a bitter bite of hops with a tangy background of grapefruit.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours golden with fluffy white head. Huge, creamy mouthfeel. Nice resin hops in the aroma. Citrus hops in the taste. Very good. One of the better beers of my recent SD trip.

On tap at Pizza Port. Pours a hazy yellow-amber with a small white head. Aroma is intensely floral, lots of hops, some malt. Taste also has a ton of flowers, a bit herbal and malty, rather bitter. Lingering bitterness. Kind of overwhelming floral bitterness.

Tap at Ocean Beach Pizza Port. Sticky sweet with losts of pine and resinous hops. Good, but the problem is with so much competition around this can’t compete. Would be a god send here in Australia though.

On tap. Hazy amber golden with a dense off-white head leaving some laces. The nose is archetypical American with fat peachy hops, caramel and sweet biscuits. Medium body, sweet caramel and fruit, dried apricots with a distinct peachy hop bitterness. Solid. 081210
