On tap @ Pizza Port Ocean Beach: Poured a bright glowing yellow and had a decent amount of haze. Was served with a small formation of head and as for the aroma, there was an over the top smell of banana, bubblegum and clove that was truly mouthwatering and worthy of a German stamp of approval. The flavor was just as good with a thick and heavy taste of banana and a gentle background of spice perhaps clove. The real deal here and stays true to German recipes of hefeweizen.

A: The beer pours the usual cloudy orange tinted gold color with a couple fingers of white head.
S: The clove and banana aromas are just massive on this beer. The banana is sort of overripe and very sweet, but quite pleasant. A moderate bubblegum aroma along with a solid wheat and bread malt base.
T: A pretty damn sweet flavor, but I like it. Sweet bread, sweet wheat, and very sweet banana and bubblegum esters. The clove is not quite as intense as it was on the nose, but does certainly make itsefl known.
M: The body and carbonation are both in the medium range.
D: Ah, a well done Hefeweizen. I would definitely recommend getting a glass of this beer.

Tap. Pours with a hazed golden-orange body and a white head. Aromas of banana, vanilla, grainy, perfume, clove, slightly husky and bready. Flavors feature vanilla and clove over the banana, but those esters and phenols are all strong. A slight hint of a smokey chlorophenol slightly detracts. Dry, bready, grainy, slightly full wheaty mouthfeel. Lively bubbles. Medium bodied to even slightly full for the style.

Served on tap at Port OB. Pours a nice clear yellow gold. The flavors and aromas are sweet with wheat, banana, a nice fruit bouquet. A decent hefe but admittedly not my favorite style.

Tap PP OB. Pretty hazy med orange with a small creamy white head. A decent head does rouse. Lots of banana in the nose with wheat and mild clove, tinge of sulfur and earth. Flavor follows, a little less banana, thankfully. More earthy and a bit toastier than I last remember. Pretty low in sweetness, dry crisp wheat finish, scant bitterness. Moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. Not my favorite US made German hefe, but still solid enough

Pale yellow-straw colour. A touch of soft clove/banana with a lingering wheaty spiciness. Pretty typical hefe really. A touch floury.
