3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 iowaherkeye (2636) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Tap at OB. Clear medium amber with a one finger off-white head, down to a clingy ring and film before long. Fruity yeast and peach notes atop a cracker malt base. Flavor is again pretty fruity with a touch of white grapes and honey, same cracker malt base. Never very sweet. Dry finish, minimal bitterness. Moderate creamy carbonation with a light to medium body. Another easy drinker, pretty inoffensive. Bartender said it was right around 5%.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (7377) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Listed at 4.2% and almost definitely a standard bitter. Pours with a clear golden to orange body with a white head. Aromas are bready, estery, nutty, biscuit, pear and a hint of diacetyl. Flavors are bready, lightly minerally, estery, fruity, cracker and seltzer water. Oddly lively and dry for a bitter. Spritzy even.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 womencantsail (6860) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - FEB 16, 2011
A: The beer pours a clear golden-amber color with a small white head and some mild lacing.
S: Smells English, that’s for sure. Mild in aroma with some bread and grain notes. There might even be a bit of corn in there. Some minimal earthy and floral hop notes to round out what is a mediocre aroma.
T: The flavor relies on the bread malt flavor that dominates it. But wait...is this sour and grassy? I feel like I’m drinking a Magnolia beer all of a sudden. Very, very meh.
M: The body is light with a moderate level of carbonation.
D: The smell was just sort of middle of the road, but the flavor was just bad.

On tap at carlsbad. More on the pilsner side of the spectrum with a lot of toasty grain and a grassy hop profile. Not my favorite on the day so far but a very drinkable beer and I’m sure it would fare much better in a bit of a warmer environment.
