Very dark mahogony brown with a thin off white head that clears edgeward.
Nose is dark malts, light coffee, molasses, biscuit notes.
Taste comprises dark fruits, molasses, light chocolate, tar.
Medium bodied with fine carbonation.
Tasty mild.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a brown amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with weak hints of chocolate. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a weak roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Pizza Port tap takeover. Pours clear, dark brown with a fine, tan cream head. Toasted brown bread aroma with light cocoa, burnt leaves, earth and hints of roasty coffee. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate coffee character, burnt toasty bread, more leaves, mild earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Light burnt toast and earth to finish, some moderate toasty sugars, faint cocoa. Very drinkable beer.

20th April 2013 Craft Clerkenwell Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Keg.Clear dark red - amber beer. Little off white head. Palate is light, dry and crispy. Lightly sourish malt that also show some dark malt character. Touch of dark fruits. Quite a dry finish, crispy too.

Aroma of US hops with some strawberry and pine, though a bit weak. Clear brown under an off-white ring. Dry, roasted nuts flavour with some slight almost lactic acid-like sourness. Light body, medium carbonation, clean finish.

Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Hazy brown color with a medium tan head and a partial top ring of lacing. Aroma of malt and a touch of hops. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet toasted malt and mild hops. The finish is short and malty. Decent overall.

GABF. Brown pour, light tan head. Lots of roasted nuts, dark bready malts and toffee in the nose. Sweet up front flavor with a light muted hop flavor. Some good dark toasted bread flavors. Nice for the style.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear, deep brown liquid with red hue and small off-white head. Aroma of coffee, pumpernickel, tobacco, smoke and dark chocolate. Nice. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of ash, coffee and knäckebröd. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation.
