BMan1113VR (7858) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 29, 2012
On tap at the source. Pours with a clear straw yellow hued body with a large and retentive white head. Aromas are of sweet orange peel, apricot, estery, grainy, tangerine, lightly grassy. Medium phenol, clove and black pepper. Flavors are dry, bubblegum, candi sugar, citrus zest, pear, medium bodied. A little bit sticky for a saison. Lively bubbles.

FlacoAlto (3800) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JUL 31, 2012
On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach; July 2012
The beer arrives from the tap with a pale white, frothy head that sits on top of an almost clear, rich gold hued beer. The nose has a spicy fruitiness to it, but is actually quite a bit more muted than the Blonde I just had. There almost seems to be a tartness to the aroma (though this doesn’t show up in the flavor), it nicely accentuates the fruit notes here (peppery star fruit is what it makes me think of.

This has a soft phenolic, musty character to it, but has a fair amount of non-descript fruit that is perhaps closest to pears, a touch of melon. This has a nicely fizzy carbonation, and is fairly light bodied, but definitely has some body to it; this is not quite as bone dry as some Saisons, but does manage to be light enough to not be too heavy for the style. This has an earthy, almost slightly woody, spiciness to it that melds in quite well with a soft, pale malt cracker character, and touches of dried hay.

VsXsV (2271) - Linköping, SWEDEN - JUL 19, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. Almost clear, golden/orange liquid with medium white head. Aroma of pepper, fruit yeast (banana), cereal, bread and maybe some light wheat. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of bread, pepper and some light booze. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Nice with their pepperoni pizza.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild yeasty and peppery. Mild yeasty, light fruity and vague phenolic. Light yeasty spiced. Mild bitter into a medium dry finish.

Draft at ocean beach pp with Linh. Pours a light amber gold body with thin white lacing. Aroma is sweet tangerine and a sweet candy wheat. Mouthfeel is overly sweet, nearly cloying with notes of over sweetened fruits, yeast and very light wheat.

iowaherkeye (2691) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Clear light to medium orange with a 1 1/2 finger yellowish off-white head, pretty good retention. Fruity banana and pear notes up front, very slight tang. Pretty estery, a bit of cracker behind. Flavor has a bell pepper vegetal note along with light black pepper. A little sweet, but not overly so, and by the finish it is dry, though the banana comes back now. The 7.5% ABV is noticeable. Bitterness is earthy and peaked at a 3. Mod creamy carb with a med body.

Served on tap at Port OB. The appearance is a crystal clear bright gold with a small white head. The aromas are creamy yeast with an earthy hop profile. The flavors enter with a lot of the yeast and bread flavors but a spicy and herbal hop takes front and center with some light non-distant to me fruit tones. A nice medium body with a slightly dry finish.
