A: The beer pours a clear golden orange color with a finger of white head and some spotty lacing. S: A big hop aroma to start this one off. Lots of citrus and pine to go with a bit of grass. The grapefruit notes are really nice on this one and there is just a little bit of tropical fruit in there. I donít really get any malt at all. T: While there is a pretty solid hop flavor, this beer is overly bitter. There is tons of pine along with some fleshy grapefruit and grapefruit rind. The finish has a lasting and intense bitterness. I donít get any malt on the palate either. M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation. D: The nose was really nice, but this beer was just too damn bitter. It would be nice to have a higher hop flavor to bitterness ratio.

On tap at the source. Pours with a large white head over a clear golden hued body. Aromas are floral, grainy, light citrus. Flavors are lightly nutty, grainy first, floral citrus, a bit weak. This might be a slightly older batch. Watery, thin and dry. Wasnít their best hoppy beer on that day.

Growler shared at DLD. I think Kan brought it? Pours a nice glowing amber hue, maybe a shade or two darker with frothy offwhite head atop that stays moderate sized, soapy lacing coats my glass. Aromas are bready malts, pale malts, grains, moving into bigger citrus and resinous pine, florals and grass. Surprisingly quite piney, with lemons, grapefruit bringing up the tail end. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, preaching fairly large hop profile: lemon, grapefruit, resinous pine, some fruity peach and moving into some light malty backbone with bread, toast, and grains. Finish dries out with bigger citrus and pine, a healthy hopping takes this bad boy into the finish. Itís pretty damn hoppy for an APA. I liked it, but around some of the other beers of the day it could easily be left out. Upper tier APA in my opinion.

Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Citrus hops aroma and taste with a sticky palate and bitter pine finish.

Sample from growler at DLD (thanks Kan). Pours a golden/light brown color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was citrus favoring grapefruit and tangerine with light notes of grainy bread. The flavor has a nice base of bready malt with ample citrus hops that favor grapefruit and tangerine. Grassy notes throughout. This was a nice diversion in between so many big beers.

A nice APA, clean and crisp. Easy drinkability.

Growler pour at DLD from Kan. Thanks! Okay, I have to admit I wasnít fair to this one. I was drinking fresh Zombie Dust side by side with this. There was a breadiness about the aromatics and some softer hop character, almost tending towards German hops with light citrus components. Lacking the bright tropical fruit notes typical of Citra. On taste, a pleasing and balanced bitterness and a refreshing hop character. Malt body is really nice, perhaps overwhelms the hop flavor somewhat. A good beer, just wasnít fair to have it side by side with Zombie Dust, thatís all.

Pizza port ball and chain. growler thanks to my man tim..... Pours a medium copper penny transaprent orangey brownpour with a thin to medium just off-white head... Aroma of crisp citrusy and dankness all for the very hop forwardness for a an american pale..... Flavors are much of the same with an emphasis on west coast tropical fruitiness, not as much as th aroma suggests, but nice nonetheless. Small bready malt backbone to coincide with the aforementione. Small to medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Tasteful and light between all the heavy hitters.

Sampled at DLD 2011 from a keg that Kan brought. Golden pour with a white head. Aroma of bread, strong aromatic hops, citrus and tropical fruit. Strong hop notes with some sweeties malt character. Flavor has a lot of citrus, mostly orange and tangerine, along with some tropical fruit notes. Good body, nice carbonation. Very delicious and likable pale.
