doubleo (683), San Diego, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours an orangish amber color with a thin white head, some lace. Smells perfectly balanced between the hops and malts. Taste is awesome, hoppy but not quite an IPA, nice and bitter. Plenty of earthy, sweet malts on the finish to back up all the hops. It’s like SNPA but with more character and depth. Medium body, good active carbonation. Awesome beer.
sunevdj (1347), Copenhagen, Denmark May 2, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a slightly tanned head and perfect lacings. Quite bitter with hoppy aromas of resin a hint of plant sap. Has a fresh sourness too. Not my favourite hopsprofile. steview (731), Oceanside, California, USA Apr 19, 2008 tap, Carlsbad, dunno why i picked this up, but it is alright--lemon, melon, pine, caramel, with the citrus/hops popping out more, but with this soapy quality; mild, overall, not in style; good to drink, but nothing to get excited; then again, with a name like Palapa, i was hoping for an easier to swallow, and exotic, ale, while it is to me a bit big and hard. goldtwins (3672), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 18, 2008 Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Poured a clear deep orange color with an off-white head. The aroma is of malt and orange scented hops. The flavor was of caramel and mild hops. Big growing bitterness on the finish. The grew to a moderate-big bitterness that tasted like citrus rind. Light to meidum bodied. badlizard (1380), San Diego, California, USA Aug 16, 2007 On tap at Pizza Port. Orange amber with a fizzy white head. Citrus, pine, and malty aroma and taste with a clean finish. Not bad.
