Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Bright golden pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is clean, balanced hops with pine and perhaps some citrus followed by a bready malt backbone. Taste is bright hops with tropical notes, pine, and a really nice doughy malt backbone. Alpine-esque in some ways. Mouthfeel is a bit heavy but it’s a great beer.

Tap at PPC. Clear yellow. Massive webby lacing. Nose is rich mango, cantaloupe. Taste is mega rich mango pith. Finish is oily and clean. Delicious. A great showcase probably of NZ hop varietals. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Almost clear golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of mango, passionfruit, grass, citrus, honey, perfume and blackberries. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of grass, weed and tropical fruit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Really nice and drinkable. Great with their pizza.

Pours a clear golden color with a white head and good lacing. Citrus peel, grass, and pine hops with a light floral character. Some bready malt, but note much in the way of sweetness. The pine is quite strong on the palate and gives the beer a pronounced bitterness. Bready malt, but again, not much sweetness. A bit of floral and citrus peel hop flavor to it as well.

BMan1113VR (7789) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 3, 2012
On tap at the source. Pours with a crystal clear golden body with a lasting white head. Aromas are of pineapple, citrus, mango, dank, tropical fruit. All hops at West Coast IPA levels. Minimal malt. Flavors are of hops: citrus, dank, pineapple, grassy, tropical fruit. Low malt presence. A bit thin on the mouthfeel (I guess this is suppose to be a Pale Ale after all), medium bubbles. Quite a nice hoppy beer.
