yespr (7814), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at San Clemente. Pours black with a lacing light tan head. Liqourice and hard roasted malt aroma. Flavour is liqourice at first with a solid roasted malt flavour following. A bit flat on carbonation. Coffiesh flavoured too. Ends slight acidic from the roasted malt. Mild bitter too. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/03/2006
dark brown with ruby edges, fine beige head, nice lace, chocolate malt aroma, thin body, sweet chocolate flavor with a hint of licorice, touch of tartness, a bit of roasted and then lots of lasting bitterness kicks in at the end
Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 4, 2005 Clearish deep brown hue mounted by a light brown head. Rather straightforward coffee/chocolate roasted malts nose. Heavily malty, heavily hoppy(dead leaves, flowers), but not necessarily the tastiest components which makes me think that from anyone else, this would be considered a middle of the pack porter. There is simply not much to say about any fruitiness or flavour evolution, though I must recognize the velvety character of the medium body. CaptainCougar (4687), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 16, 2007 Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a dense, frothy tan head. Lightly sweet, roasty dark malty aroma has some dark chocolate notes. Starts with a sweet caramely maltiness topped with a touch of roasty malt and a molten dark chocolate finish. A very drinkable and enjoyable porter. BBB63 (3843), La Porte, Indiana, USA Oct 9, 2005 GABF 2005: Brown hue with an okay head. The aroma has notes of walnut, caramel, light grassy and piney hops, coffee. The taste is quite honestly standard stuff, nutty and some apple notes on top of caramel and bready malts finishing with hoppy bitterness. An okay porter but not one of Pizza Port’s better offering I have enjoyed.
