mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 11, 2009 [2490-20090926] Tap. Citrus hoppy aroma is fruity and light. Slightly hazy, light orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Super bitter grainy citrus orange hops flavour has lovely fleshy fruit characteristics. Full body is very bitter. Lovely, just lovely -- tasty and awesome.
(@ Three Floyds; Munster, IN) craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Oct 5, 2009 sample from the pitcher at GABF on 9/26/09... pours a light orange color with a white head... nice hop profile throughout... big and piney up front... medium body with average carbonation.... overall a well hopped and drinkable IPA. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Oct 2, 2009 Guest tap at FFF. Muddy gold pour, frothy white head and short lived lace. Resinous citrus hops on the nose. Mango, citrus, and light pineapple. Lingering bitterness jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2009 2009-09-26. Crisp golden amber with a decent beige head and lace. Aroma is quite hoppy, resiny, lightly leafy and citrusy. 7+ Flavour is similar, quite hoppy, fairly bitter, light resin, very lightly astringent notes of grapefruit seed. 7+ Average plus bodied palate. This is pretty solid but lacks the depth to take it up a notch. Alcohol is quite restrained - I had no idea it was this strong until entering my rating. On tap at Three Floyd’s, Munster.
SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 29, 2009 Firkin @ Elysian Capital Hill - cloudy light gold with trace white head; thick and sweet aromas of hoppy goodness; lots of fruit; thin texture with lingering bitterness; flavor wise doesn’t quite match the aroma; pretty damn good though MoDog (910), Griffith, Indiana, USA Sep 24, 2009 On tap at Three Floyds, served in a tulip. Mostly clear, golden orange pour with a thin head of off-white foam that produced an ample amount of heavy lace. Heavy aroma of fresh citrus, tangerines, peach, and a bit of pine. The flavor had fresh citrus, grapefruit, pine needles, and a bit of pale malt sweetness. Nice, assertive hop profile with a lingering bitterness. Medium to full-bodied. Light carbonation. This was what I was hoping for when I ordered it. A fresh, heavily hopped west coast DIPA. Nicely done. undsioux7 (553), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Sep 21, 2009 Pours very cloudy orange with a good sized white head. Aroma of mango, piney grapefruit hops. Taste is sweet thick malts up front with a big lasting bitter piney peach ending. Just a touch on the bitter side for me, but if you love a long lasting huge bitterness, you will love this one. ChazMania (408), Pasadena, California, USA Sep 13, 2009 Tap from Carlsbad location. This was fantastic. I had not tasted a beer in a week, so that might have increased my opinion, but I do have a growler fill in my refrigerator for later....
Huge fruity aroma and flavors of mango and pineapple. Great finish with a refreshing and bitter tingle.
