Firkin @ Elysian Capital Hill - cloudy light gold with trace white head; thick and sweet aromas of hoppy goodness; lots of fruit; thin texture with lingering bitterness; flavor wise doesn’t quite match the aroma; pretty damn good though

On tap at Three Floyds, served in a tulip. Mostly clear, golden orange pour with a thin head of off-white foam that produced an ample amount of heavy lace. Heavy aroma of fresh citrus, tangerines, peach, and a bit of pine. The flavor had fresh citrus, grapefruit, pine needles, and a bit of pale malt sweetness. Nice, assertive hop profile with a lingering bitterness. Medium to full-bodied. Light carbonation. This was what I was hoping for when I ordered it. A fresh, heavily hopped west coast DIPA. Nicely done.

Pours very cloudy orange with a good sized white head. Aroma of mango, piney grapefruit hops. Taste is sweet thick malts up front with a big lasting bitter piney peach ending. Just a touch on the bitter side for me, but if you love a long lasting huge bitterness, you will love this one.

Tap from Carlsbad location. This was fantastic. I had not tasted a beer in a week, so that might have increased my opinion, but I do have a growler fill in my refrigerator for later.... Huge fruity aroma and flavors of mango and pineapple. Great finish with a refreshing and bitter tingle.

Cask@Obriens. Cloudy orange hue with sustaining white head. Big sweet malts mingle with mostly citrus hops and light fruits. Flavor is fruitastic- peach, orange, apricot that opens to thick underlying bready-caramel malts and modest bitter grass-citrus hops. Super thick with dense alcohol presence, bordering on barleywine qualities. Huge and heavy flavor and body, drinkability is on the lower end.

On tap at PIzza Port Carlsbad, 7/9/09. Pours hazy gold, little head. Great citrus aroma. Interesting sweet caramel taste up front, then a very long bitter finish. This is amazing for 8.5%.
