On draft at pizza port. Pours a golden dark orange with a white head and aroma of hops and pine. Taste is sweet, of fresh hops, pine, citrus, and grapefruit with a nice smooth, bitter finish. Delicious double IPA

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub. AKA - Poor Vato. Poured a cloudy gold with white head and lacing. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, pine and roasted malt. Good pineapple and citrus flavors with a lot of roasted malt, some caramel. Good but a little too much roasted malt for DIPA for my preference.

Growler shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt.
The beer is pretty clear, appearing a copper orange hue. The head is thick and creamy, holding steady at a half inch thick. The aroma offers hops, pine, alcohol. Bready malt and biscuits in the flavor, with pine and alcohol. Substantial malt character throughout. Medium full bodied, with appropriate carbonation. Overall, pretty good, though too malt forward for my liking. Alcohol could be masked better as well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Orange color, thick head, sticky lacing on the glass. Smell is bitter, hops, hops, hops. Flavor is more bitter hops, chewy, oily almost couldnít detect the alcohol but you could feel a thickness that let you know this was indeed a double IPA. This was pretty damn good and for 9% I killed it with ease. Nice.

Sampled at GABF. Nice hoppy and bitter IPA. Really enjoyable. Not so malty for a double. To the guy in front of me who called this "bad," you donít know what you are talking about.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
500th IPA Rating, oh and what a great IPA it is.
Growler pours clear copper with thin near white head. The aroma offers up malt sweetened grapefruit and tangelo and some mango too. The taste is straight up yum. I get rich crisp fresh grapefruit and tangelo and a bit of mongo that rolls from flavor hops into more and more resiny bitterness to midway and then carries right into the finish. The background has a touch of sweet malts holding it together. Man! This is good.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted as "Poor Vato" on a nitro tap. Awesome orange cream soda looks with massive guinessesque nitro head
Aroma is huge melon and citrus hop
Flavor is more of the same. Some initial sweetness with nice bitter bite on finish. Silky mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at beachwood title Poor Vato. P: Just like a nitro stout this pours crazy with all the foam and such. A golden amber color with a thin white head (the foam had to settle though). S: Grapefruit, pine, grass, mango and orange. T: Melons, peaches, pineapples, mango, and grapefruit, light to medium bitterness. M: Very creamy. O: this is great although I still have to actually have regular poorsman I hope to actually find both together so I can compare.

Pint from nitro tap at the brewpub. What a weird concept. Iím not sure that an IIPA necessarily benefits from nitrogen, but it is definitely different and this was still a damn good beer. After a minute for the cascading to settle in my glass, Iím left with a burnt orange-boded beer with a perfectly symmetrical off white head. The hops are powerful, crisp and clear in the nose. Mainly grapefruit with assorted herbs. I canít get over the creamy palate, my mind isnít used to processing this mouthfeel with the extreme hoppiness. The grapefruity bite lingers with a long, dry finish. This is a seriously resinous beer, as well. Iíd definitely drink this again.
