3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark black with tine micro-brown head. Smells of dark chocolate and coffee and flavors of the same, just with a peculiar hint of sourness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ San Clemente Location: This one poured an almost inky black. There was a thick light brown head to it. It also had some lacing. The aroma was roasty with a hint of sweetness. There were some chocolate and coffee notes also. The taste was along similar lines. Nice!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very solid Imperial: black with almost no head, a faint aroma of roasted barley, and a nice mouthfeel. The flavor is light coffee and roastiness with a slight hop presence on the end. Smooth and more mellow in flavor than I thought it would be. A little nutty as well. Good and somewhat sessionable, especially for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap in Carlsbad. Obviously black as death. No head at all. Notes of ripe fruit and raisins in the aroma. This is as smooth as a freshly waxed pussy. Oh sorry didn't mean to be too graphic. While I like it,it's like driving a Cadillac,... Sure it's real nice but where are the lines, edges and the roar of the engine. I don't think anyone would guess this was 10.2% until they had finished it and were stumbeling back to the hotel. I would add more black patent malt to the recipe to let people know what that they are actually drinking an imperial stout and please give some more IBUs,... Bullion and hey your on the west coast, how about some cascades.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown approaching black. Light roasted coffee, some chocolate and a touch of fruitiness. Strong bitterness in the finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Tasty and pleasant, but not as good as its southern cousin.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
To the surprise of no one, this pours jet black.Maybe with imperial stouts we should only note the color if it isN't jet black...
THis is a nicely balanced imperial stout. The flavors of coffee, molasses & chocolate are evened out with some hoppiness. The word I'd use to describe this imperial is "silky". It's smooth and the alcohol is not even apparent. Well done

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
GABF 2003: Black with ruby highlights under a small off-white head. Roasted coffee with dark fruits and a wine-like aroma. Syrupy in a good way, starts and ends sweet. Silky ending and a great imperial stout.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Coal black pour with a muddy head, densely packed with bubbles. Full bodied creamy mouthfeel. Nose is not as strong as I was expecting but hinted at some molasses. Flavor has all the characteristics you want in an Imperial. Dark chocolate, coffee, molasses and some hop bitterness balancing things out. Alcohol is expertly hidden. Definite winner from the brewers at Pizza Port!

Very dark black with a small tan head. Lots of roasted malt, burnt malt and coffee aromas. Flavor is nutty and coffee. Big thick chewy body with a fairly strong alcohol finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Strong alcohol flavor, lightly roasted malts. Finishes with a little more malty strength with a mild sherry like flavor that improves as it warms. Pretty light in body for the style and very easy drinking.
