Nice pale gold with thin white head. Banana esters waft off the nose. Sweet and medium-thin on the tongue with lively carbonation. Graham cracker notes in a medium malt with some notes of candy apple. Finishes with a Belgian fruity hop presence with a hint of grass.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours clear golden with a nice white head and a floral aroma. There is a thin pale malt flavor with a little banana ester and a dry finish.

Growler fill and just poured into my tulip glass. I’m surprised by many low(er) scores for this. Big aroma, really crisp and full with classic belgian esters. Appearance is perfectly clear and golden. Taste is a big amped up golden, great honeysuckle and honeydew mixed with enough sweetness to not be a sugar bomb. Really clean finish and very enjoyable!

On tap at Haymarket’s PP night. Doughy sweet aromas some citrus.  Clear yellow gold. Sweet malts.  Doughy sweet. So sweet some belgain funk underneath. But that sweet dough is too much. 7/3/6/3/13

Clear golden color. Grainy, lightly yeasty aroma. Sweet yeasty flavor, medium bodied, easy drinking, touch of hop and bite in the finish.

Draft on tap at Haymarket’s Pizza Port Event (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice golden glowing hue, touch of haze, frothy offwhite ringed head dies. Aromas are fruity apples, pears, and some lemons, bready malts. Touches of esters, sweeter honey works in. Initial is very sweet, honey and apples, pears, vanilla, touches of light grass. Into the middle sweet breads, malty grains, honey, and mellow fruits. Finish preaches sweet fruits, touches of lingering spicy yeasts. Very sweet Belgian that just doesn’t work for me. Lacks balance, complexity, and a bunch of stuff.

On tap at Downtown Johnny Browns some time ago. A nicely crafted BSA. Spicey, clove, with some bread dough. Very nice. Well crafted.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. It pours golden with a lasting white head. The aroma is sweet and spicy with lots of ripe banana, vanilla, a little clove and yeast in the finish. The sweetness reminds me a bit of vanilla ice cream. Overall, very sweet and spicy but tasty.

A: The pour is a pale yellow color with a large white head on top. S: Very heavy on the esters and phenols. Banana, white pepper, and clove are prominent aromas. There is a touch of straw and grass. Pale cracker malts and yeast are also present. T: The flavors are much the same. Mildly sweet with some cracker malts and bread. Pepper, grass, banana, and spices are there along with some yeast. A light fruitiness comes out as it warms up a bit. M: Surprisingly light in body with a fairly high level of carbonation. O: Not one of my favorites. Too phenolic and not much sweetness at all.
