From tap at 4:20. Pours dark brown to black with a rocky, off-white and tan head. Aroma is dark roasted oatmeal. Mild fruity, vague citrusy and slight phenolic. Sweet and fruity mixed with a distinct roasted malt flavour.

MartinT (7811) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 13, 2010
My Bottom Line:
Coffee and caramel slowly churn out a cushy flavour profile for this highly drinkable and approachable Oatmeal Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the dark brown blackness.
-Pumpernickel bread angles are found next to light fruit esters.
-This was not served on nitro, but the mouthfeel was very soft nonetheless.
-I would have appreciated a bit more refinement and clarity in the maltsí flavours.

On tap at the brewpub.

Dark brown with a small head. Aroma of chocolate and raspberries with a bit of coffee. Flavor is mildly bitter and malty. Just a hint of sweetness. Smooth but thin mouthfeel. A good solid stout.

On tap at GABF where this beer won a fairly well-deserved gold. Labeled as "Ernestís Silky Smoove." It does indeed appear "smoove" and black with a small, lasting tan head. Aroma is roast, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, toasted oats, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Palate is medium-full and very creamy from the oatmeal. Overall really solid.
