3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice golden color with a bit of a white head and lacing, but not as much as I would expect from a tripel. The nose brings some spice and fruit as well as some light grain sweetness. The taste is mostly spice and fruit without too much else, though what is there is a bit nice. Feel is nice with some spice and fruit with good carbonation. Drinks fairly well, but doesn’t stand up to the Belgian examples of the style.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is really tasty. Lots of spices. Definitely strong; doesn’t hide the alcohol at all. Crisp and spicy. This goes back and forth between being really good and needing to mask the strength better.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of spiceys, yeast, and peaches. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, peaches, and yeast, leading to a fruity and yeasty finish, very subtly hopped. Powerful body.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crushed at BSAF 10. Wasn’t a big fan of this one. Never really a fan of tripels anyway I suppose. Very malty with some light fruitiness. Pretty boring brew to come out of an outstanding brewery.

Draft at Avery Strong Ale Fest 2010. Pours a perfect urine yellow with a small white head. Nose of esters, spice, alcohol, hops. Flavors are similar, with some coriander and other spice, citrus, more alcohol, and lots of sweetness. Not my cup of tea.
