On tap @ Pizza Port San Clemente. Pitch black with lots of lasting tan head. Great Imperial Stout aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, and vanilla - I picked up some bourbon as well and had to double check with the bartender that this wasn’t the barrel aged version (it wasn’t). Taste is creamy with lots of chocolate and roast. Slightly bitter but more on the sweet side.

hugely rich chocolate nose with treacles and dark fruit. Fresh brownies.  Well balanced mildly sweet mouth. Just brownies. Full bodied. Well balanced. Highly enjoyable. Alcohol well hidden for 10%. Tobacco and coffee notes

Draft at San Clemente. Pours black with thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Taste of chocolate and light hops. Creamy finish. Very good and has nice alcohol burn in the end.

A: The pour is pitch black with a thin layer of mocha colored head that sticks around for a surprisingly long time. S: A really rich and sweet nose on this beer. Lots of burnt sugar, licorice, and dark fruits to begin with. The roasted malt character is intense (as is the coffee) and there’s a bit of a dark chocolate thing going on as well. T: The roast and coffee start things off with a big bitter kick. That dies away quite abruptly and the sweetness really comes through. Lots of licorice, burnt sugar, molasses, and alcohol. M: The body is on the full side with a medium but smooth carbonation. D: Somehow I kept missing this beer, but I finally got to try it. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though it would have been to put away of large amount of this.

On tap @ Pizza Port Solana. Black with a tan head. Lots of chocolate, coffee, pine, citrus and vanilla in the aroma. Flavor is similar with lots of hop bitterness some acidic coffee and semi-sweet chocolate malt. Full body with average carbonation and a smooth, velvety mouth feel. Damn good Imp Stout.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor is swet with strong notes of chocolate combined with medium notes of malt, coffee, wood, and soy sauce, as well as lighter notes of hops and citrus fruits. The alcohol tickles the palate.

This beer is the bomb. Pours black with a thin brown hed that leaves some lace. Smells.dark and roasty with some sweetness and dark bitter chocolate. Tastes dark and sweet roasty, chocolate sweetness. A hint of dishwater but too many other flavors going on to care. Thivk, full body, good carbonation.

Filthy black roasted coffee head. Aroma is dry chocolate, roasted malt, and very subtle raisin or dried dark fruit. Flavor is straightforward roasty malt, chocolate, some balanced hop bitterness toward the finish, and some tang from the 10 percent. Flavor profile is tighter than Nightrider. Well done.
