22/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Thanksgiving Day.

11.22.11. Black color with tan head. Nice coffee, tobacco, dark roast aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Deep roast, dark chocolate, tobacco, wood char flavors--very tasty

Guest tap at Alpine Brewpub. Pours a thick black color with a tan haed that has fair retention. The aroma is medium with roasted acorns and biter burnt toast. The flavor is similar with lots of roasted nuts, black breads, molasses, mocha, coffee and biter walnuts. The palate is full, smooth and creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes long, dry and earthy. Overall: Very tasty powerhouse of a stout.

OLD GABF. draught. burnt booze and fruity. A little chalky on the tongue but otherwise really great. A huge nose.

On tap @ Pizza Port San Clemente. Pitch black with lots of lasting tan head. Great Imperial Stout aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, and vanilla - I picked up some bourbon as well and had to double check with the bartender that this wasn’t the barrel aged version (it wasn’t). Taste is creamy with lots of chocolate and roast. Slightly bitter but more on the sweet side.

hugely rich chocolate nose with treacles and dark fruit. Fresh brownies.  Well balanced mildly sweet mouth. Just brownies. Full bodied. Well balanced. Highly enjoyable. Alcohol well hidden for 10%. Tobacco and coffee notes
