UPDATED: SEP 9, 2012 Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Clear golden appearance with a fluffy, white head. Rich grapefruit/orange citrusy, a touch piney hoppy, cake aroma. Chalky, a touch bitter, rich grapefruity, piney, organic hoppy flavor with a fairly dry, bitter finish.

Cask @ Pizza Port (San Clemente). Hazy golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, pine, citrus and honey. Flavor is mostly bitter hops with a smooth toasty malt character. Medium body with mild carbonation (cask) and a long, dry, bitter finish. Nice IIPA, focus is on the hops with light malt taste and the alcohol is very well hidden.

Pitcher at Pizza Port in San Clemente. Pours a light orange with a slight, white head. Aroma is of tropical fruit and some nice peach elements. Taste is very much of fresh tilled soil, first in a DIPA, with some very slight tropical fruit, spring flower elements and peach. Mouthfeel is slight to watery. Overall, a bit boring for Pizza Port. Thank goodness the pizza is amazing.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Pours with a clear golden orange body with a bone colored off-white head. Aromas are hoppy, tangerine, pine, mango. Odd windex character as well. Some bready malt. Flavors are citrus, pine, resin with a medium to strong bitterness. Light dextrin. Creamy carbonation and a bit dry.

Tap @ brewery. Deep golden/straw pour with thin lasting white head. Excellent lacing. Citrus, earthy hop aroma. Fresh hops, floral. Well balanced for a double. Moderate bite. Like a crushed hop flower in your mouth.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange color with a finger of white head. A very intense hop aroma to this. Lots of herbal and line hop notes. Just a bit of citrus peel in there, too. Some sweet bread and malt on the back end. A bit sweet and quite a bit of bread and toasted malt. A bit of herbal and pine hop flavor with a little bitterness on the finish. Not quite as good as many of the other Pizza Port IPAs. Medium body and medium carbonation.
