Draft @ PP: Poured a very dark brown with a ruby hue and creamy tan head. Light coffee and light roasted aroma. Chocolate in the background. Thin roasted malt flavor. A little harsh on the finish. The body was light almost watery.

GABF 06. Dark brown, almost black. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate, dark malts. Taste is roasty and lightly bitter, chocolate, and sweet malt, lightly bitter finish.

On tap @ Pizza Port San Clemente poured a transluscent brownish black with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla and some roastiness. Palate was medium bodied, creamy and smooth. Flavors of chocolate, vanilla and light coffee with a smooth lightly bitter finish.

Nose is huge roastiness with mild coffee and some chocolate notes. Very light brown with a lazy head. Hoppy with a lot of malts with the coffee and chocalte coming through. Simple bitter finish.

Tap @ brewery. Dark, ruby/walnut body with a light tan head. Webby lace with splotches. Yeast/bread on the aroma, dark malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate. Mouth is medium with tons of super-soft carbonation (like a nitro), lightly dry. Flavor is plastic, candy, sugar, dust, lightly roasty, touch sour dough in the finish, touch bitter, coffee, light alcohol. Interesting amalgamation of flavors, but I drank it and even enjoyed it. Very unique. Great mouth.

Very dark, but not quite black body with a light tan, creamy head. Light aromas of blacky cherry, coffee, caramel, and the roasted malt. Creamy, but almost imperial-esque flavor qualities. Very toasty with a touch of vanilla at the finish. Very nice brew.

On tap @ Solana Beach location. Is this a porter or a stout. Either way, a very drinkable, well balanced beer. Looks nice in the glass too.

GABF 2005: Brown hue with an okay head. The aroma has notes of walnut, caramel, light grassy and piney hops, coffee. The taste is quite honestly standard stuff, nutty and some apple notes on top of caramel and bready malts finishing with hoppy bitterness. An okay porter but not one of Pizza Port’s better offering I have enjoyed.

GABF 2005. Dark orangeish brown with a medium-sized light brown head. Chocolate roast aroma with a light chicory roast flavor, a decent amount of floral hops and a touch of peaty smoke. Pretty solid.

Pour rich amber with a thin tan head...smell is piney and soapy...taste is really just hoppy...I don’t get this one either...
