This is my life thanks to ratebeer. Haters gonna hate. Bros gonna lift. Tickers gonna tick.

Oh, the beer. Big coffee nitro lace atop inky black. Nose is savory, dark chocolate. Taste is very light, neutral bitterness, lemon, coffee, lactic acid, small lemon. Light and refreshing. Very simple. Session able. Maybe that’s why it won gold.

Nitro @ Pizza Port Solana Beach... Poured jet black with thick, frothy, light khaki head. This was a nice Irish Style stout. Good amount of flavor with roast, mild bitterness from hops, toasted grains, cocoa, coffee, and an ashy-drying mouth feel. Quenching and easy drinking and sessionable. What’s not to like?

On tap @ the brewpub. Apparently this won gold at the GABF this year-- nice! Dark brown body, creamy tan nitro head. Low aroma of sweet roast (nitro deadens the nose). Fairly simple palate profile of dark roast, a little cola-ish sweetness. Thinnish mouthfeel, dry finish. I far preferred the Pave Paradise.

In the glass it is dark brown with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts with a little bit of cocoa. Taste is rather creamy with a little bit vanilla and sweetness. Smooth finish.

On nitrogen at PP Carlsbad. Dark brown pour, with a nice tan creamy nitro head. Roasted grain, a bit of chocolate, and watery. Flavor is very weak. Drinkable and boring.

Poured from the tap at Solana Port. Dark coffee tint, with a very thin white head. The aroma was malt and chocolate, and the taste with the same, though it dissipated quickly. I made the mistake of having a Stone Russian Imperial stout at the same location, and quickly forgot about this one.

On tap at solana beach location... Pours a clean mostly opaque cola black hue with reddish brown edges and topped with a creamy off-white head... Aroma of roasted malt and grain with lesser hints of cocoa... Flavors are smooth creamy and semi-sweet with roasted grain. Easy going creamy mouthfeel with a lightly chalky consistency.
