Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

Bottle. Very cloudy reddish brown colour with a beige head. Sweet, lots of caramel, lots of hops, star fruit, passion fruit, grape, tosted malt, a bit of alcohol. Bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel.

The beer has a cloudy ruby color with a thin, beige head. Pleasant aroma of hops with earthy malt and caramel. Good flavor of hops, caramel and earthy malt. The body is light while the texture is creamy and the carbonation is moderate. Not one of the best or original offerings from Pizza Port, but it’s still worth a try.

Bottle, bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense.
Pours deep brown with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of fruity hops and some roasted caramel. Medium carbonation, fine, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is super hoppy, caramel, some cellar notes. Centennial, grass dominates. Great.

Dark red-brown colored with hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Nutty and licoricy aroma with thin alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is drier with strong hops and licorice, some tangy biting tone also present. Aftertaste dries still with mild alcohol and lemon. Well, somehow one dimensional.

Bottle: Poured a thick reddish brown color. The aroma was hops and malts. The flavor was sweet, caramel, malty, dark fruits, and a touch of hops. Overall, very tasty and very thick. A good beer.

Beautiful red-amber color, cloudy, with a medium-sized creamy head. The malt and hops combine into a very nice aroma, reminding some vanilla too, fruity, true American character, also buttery, and with light earthy traces. Medium body strength, caramel flavor, some residual sweetness (just the necessary) and strong resiny bitterness; there are hints of bitter orange too. Balanced, very enjoyable, solid.

2009-02-06, bottle at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Good, sweet and hoppy beer, good body and sweetness, powerful and balanced.

Reddish brown with 1/3 inch tan/white head, yeast sediment visible, minimal retention, sticky lacing. Pleasant aroma - spicy & sweet. Taste is more malty than hoppy - nutty sweetness. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with medium/low carbonation. Perfectly brewed to style.
