Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

The pour was ruby and brown with a super short off-white head. Minimal lacing. The aroma was malty, hoppy pine and softer floral. The flavor was pine hops, caramel malt and some softer floral hops and spice. Some alcohol snuck through. The mouthfeel was nice, the finish was clean. Good.

The ubiqutous 99% hop ,in any Port brew, sweet sugary malts, taste is hop emphasized with San Diego bitterness, bitter crystal sugary finish. Another great well done Port Brew

In short: Luscious caramelized body and good hop-bite. Very good beer.
How: Bottle 22oz dropped in my cooler by my buddy dmac. Drank fresh a few days later
The look: Cloudy redish-amber body topped by beige ring of foam
In long: Big rich and round body full of fruity caramel over toasted bread. Hints of red berries here and there. Really luscious caramelized body here. I liked it. A whole lot of resinous hops for an herbal/tea-like character balance it nicely. There’re probably tuning this recipe because I clearly remember not caring about it when I first had it a few months ago (boring sugary malt profile and brutal hops bite) but this bottle I’m rating was really good. Effective Shark Attack, no bite or amputation to report, but some ass was kicked.

Aroma is malt and cranberries, slight alcohol. Pours dark opaque reddish brown, no head. Flavor begins malty/Carmelly sweet and spicy. finishes with a dry hop throat. Malt is rich and alcoholy on the roof of the mouth, hops are intense pine and spice. There is also a nice sweet cranberry/brown sugar flavor in the middle of the palate. Nice balance between the intense malt and and hops. Medium body, medium-low to medium drinkability. This beer kicks you in the face, not for the faint of heart. Still, really enjoyable.

Aroma is citrus, caramel malting, piney, some bitterness and carbonation. This is definitely a b-wine. Taste is deeply caramel, lots of cloying sweetness, citrus, some bitterness. I also get a very slight touch of toastiness and soap. Very yummy. Alcohol, hops and cloying sweetness round out the palate.

Hazy deep amber with tiny off white head. Sweet and hoppy aroma with caramel notes. Sweet and hoppy flavor with hints of pine, caramel, grapefruit and toasted malt. Well balanced. Ends solid bitter.

Pours cloudy brown/amber. Aroma / taste is hoppy with light bitterness, (cheese/earthly like yeast presence), lightly malt with some caramel. Was not really impressed by it. Would try again and get a better opinion.
