Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

Bottle shared by wolf. Damn the aroma smells like a malt bomb exploded into my glass. Dark red in color, average head. Taste is the same as the aroma, malt malty, and maltier. The description say hop, but they were not in this bottle. Not balanced at all. Not that enjoyable either. Texture is stout thick... Not bad but not great as well. Thanks wolf for sharing.

22 oz bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet caramel malts, melon, and piney grapefruity hops and a touch of alcohol.

The flavor is sweet caramel malts, pepper, alcohol, sour apples and tarry hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a velvety finish.

Overall, almost an awesome beer. The flavor was a bit subdued and didn’t do it for me.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a hazy golden color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Good malt and citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick & smooth texture. Moderate to heavy well balanced smooth flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Standout brew.

Pours a still bright ruby with almost no head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, has some berry, light alcohol, malty, lightly phenolic. The flavor is sweet, hoppy bite, malty, citrusy, fruity, alcohol. The palate is waxy hoppy bite, alcohol.

22oz bottle. Aroma smacks the nose with assloads of crystal malt and piney hops. Caramel drizzled fruit. Some herbal teal like qualities. Scented candle wax, air freshner and perfume as well. But definitely most heavy on the crystal malt and pine needles. Pours an attractive dark amber/copper with the requisite sticky white head leaving some sticky lace along the sides of my glass. Flavor mirrors the aroma... it really doesn’t do a whole lot for me. Plenty of spruce and plenty of malt. There’s a slight fusel alcohol note that really distracts as well. Perfumy. Soapy. Really quite boring and unimpressive. The body lacks here too. slightly thin and metallic for this style of a beer. I need more heft. Finishes with a blast of pine and perfume. Meh... Thanks, though, Rusty!

Bottle. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Malty hoppy bitter aroma with pine needles hints. Sweetish warming malty hoppy pine needles flavor. Sweetish warming malty very hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

The pour was ruby and brown with a super short off-white head. Minimal lacing. The aroma was malty, hoppy pine and softer floral. The flavor was pine hops, caramel malt and some softer floral hops and spice. Some alcohol snuck through. The mouthfeel was nice, the finish was clean. Good.

The ubiqutous 99% hop ,in any Port brew, sweet sugary malts, taste is hop emphasized with San Diego bitterness, bitter crystal sugary finish. Another great well done Port Brew
