Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 17, 2008 Pours a reddish-brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is bitter, grassy, caramel. Taste is about the same. Reminds me a lot of Southern Tier Big Red and Gemini. A bit harsh for me. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA May 17, 2008 Pours out a nice darker red color with a smaller amount of head. aroma was very hoppy and citrusy. Flavor was very much the same with a crisp hop finish. A fantastic beer. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle from South Bay. Pours out a dark red color without much of a head, then out of no where it kind of gets a nice tan little head on it. Smell is full of hops, caramel, malts, sugars, grass, and a touch of citrus. Taste is similar, but it has alot of hops - very Pizza Port like, smooth yet brutal but that is what makes it good. Not as bitter as I thought it would be, but it is plenty bitter to satisfy hop heads. Really good stuff, and actually my glass went so quick, I had no idea what happened. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA May 15, 2008 Copper color with little head. Nice spruce sap hop and caramel malt aroma. Medium body. Nice taste is mildly sweet caramel malts with leafy hop resin. Has a nicely bitter finish. Not too bad, but gimme an IPA please. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber-brown with no real head. Very hoppy aroma, with a bit of citrus and spices. Flavor also has a lot of hops, with still some hints of spices and a bit of malt. Nice lingering sharp bitterness. Interesting and tasty. Sleeper (76), Washington, USA May 14, 2008 Updated: Jun 11, 2008Bottle pours with very little head. Red Hue very hoppy and pine aroma. Flavor is very hoppy. Alcohol is very present and steals away some flavor. It’s not my style really. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange red with delicate lighter red hues. Flavor is hoppy, pine, malty, woddy, and sweet. Finish is strongly hopped with little detectable etoh masked by the strong hop character. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam May 11, 2008 Draught, Lost Abbey Orangey-red colour. Chewy crystal malt with woody hop notes. Chewy with lots of bitterness. Sweet finish. Fairly typical for the style. Nice woody hop notes. It’s ok, never was my style.
