Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

22. Pours nearly black with a decent, if brief, creamy tan head. Little webby rings of lace. Thin rim left over. Nice sweet mango and peach nose. Creamy, medium body with very little carb. Sweet caramel, toast, nuts, pine, and bits of the aforementioned mango and peach...all giving way to a big resin wash that hangs around in a long, clingy, bitter finish. Dangerously close to being sessionable even at this boosted abv. I could see getting myself in bad trouble drinking this beer.

bottle from hollingshead in anaheim. I’m not sure why it’s filed under triple here, but whatever...this is a great beer. smooth, full, deep, a great winter warmer. very little carbonation, almost like water.

Bottle from Joey at South Bay D&L. Dark reddish amber color with small head. Nose of citrus and floral hops with rich malt backbone. Flavor is good balance of strong malt and powerful hops. Nice medium bitter finish. Another good beer from these guys.

Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear amber witha small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet fruit, and citrus. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and very well hidden alcohol.

Pour is a plum color or maybe brown...tough to say. Virtually no head. Aroma of bubblegum, bananna and a little booze. Sweet and boozy with a fair amount of bitterness, Medium body and smooth despite the alcohol quality. I liked this better on draft.

Bottle: Dark caramel amber color with a smaller, but thick and creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Nose is bountiful with hops; grapefruit and florals. Nice amount of caramel sweetness. Flavor is a powerful belnd of floral hops and caramel sweetness. The citrus lays back and plays an accenting role. Dry and flowery, but still sweet and smooth. Thanks to The Epeeist for sending this in trade.
