Aroma of caramel as well as citrus and piney hops. Nice sweet malt flavor with a little spice and citrus hops. Nicely done. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Pours beautiful red-mahogany with almost no head. Strong malty toffee and nutty notes in the nose, accompanied by citrus and cherry. Flavor carries sweet cherry and toffee notes, balanced with an abundance of citrus and bitter hoppines and an almost spicy finish. Sticky, full palate is the only drawback on this one. alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico

Delicious, chewey, super malty with a strong hop precence. Toffe and nutty aftertastes with a slight lemony hint.
Unoticable alcohol. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2008 (22oz Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, toffee, and chocolate. Flavor of toffee, roasted/caramel malts, light chocolate, and hops (citrus, floral) with a flat, under carbonated mouthfeel. jason (1621), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep red body with thin head. Aroma is caramel, malt. Tough decision on how to rate it. It wasn’t too faint but it wasn’t too strong. Overall it didn’t leave a big impression but...whatever. Flavor is carmel, hops, and a nice sweet malty body. Light perfume and candi sugar. Thi is very drinklable with the 9% not showing up on the taste. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Courtesy of toncatcher. Pours a clean, ruby red body with a relatively sticky, beige foam. The aroma is quite earthy with notes of piney/peppery hops dominating. The flavor is bitter orange/grapefruit peel, juicy pine needles, sourdough pretzel, and a subtle chedder cheese flavor buried in there. eyesandsmiles (179), Mission Viejo, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Yummy Yummy. Pizza port comes through once again. In a big way. I’m an IPA man myself but loved this. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 17, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours ruby to deep coppery brown with 1-finger off-white head. The nose is caramel malt, huge hops, vinous fruit, perfumy notes, tangerine, melon, cinnamon...just a wonderful aroma. The taste is rich, complex, very hoppy, with a very large malt bill that balances the hops nicely. As it warms, this one gets a bit hot, and a bit more peppery and resiny in the hop department, but the hops remain well balanced by the copious malt throughout. As a final comment, I did indeed detect a cinnamony spiciness throughout this brew, but it seemed to belong and fit in nicely with the rest of the beer profile, so I did not assess that as a negative.
