Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

22 oz bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA. Pours out deep red with a medium off white head. Aroma is strong and full of malt, floral and pine hops, some light citrus. Flavor is full of those things and some grape/grapefruit type flavors. Extremely tasty, one of the better red styled ales I’ve ever had.

bottle: poured deep red... almost chum like, with a medium head. Smelled very floral hoppy and malty sweet. Flavor was smooth sweet malt with a good amount of bitterness. Hops flovors were citrusy.piney, and lingering bitterness. Alcohol was well balance. Overall: I wasn’t sure what I would think of this one, but it was tasty and quite pleasant.

Bottle via Hophead22. Pours a murky brownish red with thin qhite head. Aroma evident of floral hops, malt, pine, and sweetness. Flavor is similar with an addition of dried fruit and an pleasant alcohol burn. Normally this is bad, but with this one it was good. VERY pleasant aftertaste.

Bomber labled Shark Attack Double Red Ale. Pours murky dark copper-brown with a 2 finger creamy tan head that has great retention. Aroma is very sweet, lots of caramel, tofee, toasted bread, nougate, lots of citrus, pine, berries and a little dark fruit. Flavor is lots of caramel, citrus, toast, resinous hops, berries, dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar and lots of alcohol. Finish is burnt sugar, molasses, grapefruit and bitter hops. Palate is medium thickness slightly oily feel with a fairly dry finish and oily exit. Not bad stuff overall but the alcohol is a little overpowering.

At Brewery Pub De Molen, Thanx Menno. A clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of bitter hops, with some sweets. Fruity like citrus and grapes. The taste of hops, with malts. It has a bitterness with notes of sweet. It’s spicey, peppery. There are fruits like grapes and some orange. The aftertaste is warm, spicey and bitter.

Bottle. Reddish brown color. Grapes and grapefruit in the aroma. Full bodied. malty hopbitter flavor with grapes, red berries and some hop oil. Not too loud but persistant, almost medecinal hopbitter aftertaste. A taste bomb with a decent balance.

Bottled 650ml. Courtesy of badlizard. Appearance: It pours a hazy ruby brown beer with a small beige head. Good lacework. Aroma: Hop resin, raisins, lychee, nutmeg, cherry, oak, crystal malt and fennel showing up. Flavor and palate: Subdued bitterness. Hints of nutmeg. Malt accented. Sweet. Fennel in the finish. Overall impression: Dissapointing. Not my style. Thanks a lot badlizard!

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 3 April 2009) Reddish amber colour with foamy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, blood oranges and lots of citrussy, slightly rubbery, hops. Fruity, malty taste with caramel, blood oranges and generous doses of citrussy, piney hops in the finish. More than medium body. Good balance between the generous amounts of hops and a solid crystal malt foundation. Lovely beer.
