Hoppy presence. Mildly cloying but freshly gripping and malty. Very worthy monstrously hopped hophead nectar. Bold and a good representation of the double red stylistic. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Bomber. Pours lightly hazy dark copper with a scant off-white head. Sweet grapefruit and toffee nose, and you’ll find a bit of pine if you dig deep enough. Sweet medium body and moderate carbonation. Toffee and citrus taste that finishes semi-dry, nicely bitter, but somehow crisp at the same time. There’s a bit of alcohol warmth, but not what I’d expect for a beer at nearly 10%. What a BIG beer Kind of a murky, brown with radiant ruby highlights. Head was small and beige in color. Big nose of alcohol, hops, sweet malts and spice. Flavor had a lot more hop presence than was expected. cbkschubert (2030), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Very little carbonation. Sweet piney aroma. Some spicy hoppiness. Deep and rich. Smooth low carbonation mouthfeel. Slightly sweet up front. Followed by a rich malty flavor. Finishes with a bit of grapefruit peel bitterness. No alcohol is noticeable. Reminds me of something in the vein of AB, with a low carbonation. sebletitje (2000), Tampa, Florida, USA

Aroma / taste is hoppy with light bitterness, (cheese/earthly like yeast presence), lightly malt with some caramel.
Was not really impressed by it. Would try again and get a better opinion. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA
