miketd (331), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 23, 2008 Pour is a plum color or maybe brown...tough to say. Virtually no head. Aroma of bubblegum, bananna and a little booze. Sweet and boozy with a fair amount of bitterness, Medium body and smooth despite the alcohol quality. I liked this better on draft.
mabel (1391), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2008 [1367-20080517] 1pt6floz bottle. Hoppy dark malt aroma with leafy toast notes. Clear, dark amber brown body with quick off-white bubbles. Bitter hoppy grassy bits in the flavour, but mostly generic pine malt and bitterness. Medium body is super bitter. Interesting.

Overheard: "Yeah, they’re flavour crystals." (referring to large floaties) masonjer (422), Lansing, Michigan, USA Aug 5, 2008 This beer has really confused me. Pizza Port making some great beer in general. I picked this bottle up from a bevmo in CA, and drank it immediately. Not sure what happened to this. Poured a dark red color with almost zero head. Aroma was huge sweet malt and raisins. Taste is hugely sweet as well, over ripe fruit and a huge alcohol kick on the end. The promised hops seemed to have vanished creating a syrupy sweet unbalanced malt bomb. I get almost zero citrus or punchy pine hop character. Not sure what to say, I am very confused as I was looking forward to this one. It is possible that any amount of time does not treat this beer well. kmeves (990), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours a cloudy medium brown with a thin beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel and pine. Flavor is big grapefruit, caramel and pine. Full body, sticky texture. Long big bitter finish. Simple but lovely!
Lt_Dan (10), California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Ok, the label says double, the example picture on RateBeer says Double, yet I am entering in a rating for "Triple Red Ale?" WTF!
Anyway, if Hop 15 had special relations with Shark Bite Red, and had a baby, it would be Shark Attack Double Red Ale. thenick (530), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle purchased @ Pizza Port, Solana Beach. This has to be one of the most interesting things I’ve ever tasted. Pours a very deep red with a small and quickly-dissipating white head. The aroma is heavy malt with hop notes detectable as well. Taste is vinious, with detectable malt and dark fruit with a hop finish. What an interesting, interesting beer....and a wonderful beer.
