The nose shows sweet malt, grapefruit, herbs, pine, caramel and spice. In the mouth it is medium to full-bodied, sweet, rich and intense. The hops emerge on the finish which shows some bitterness. This is a well-balanced beer with the malt shining through in the midpalate and hops joining in toward the finish. trevor211 (531), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a ruby-tinted amber with very little head. Wonderfully pungeant aroma of strong hops and caramel malts, balanced perfectly. Equally pungeant flavor, though the malts shine more than the hops once you taste it. You can tell this is a strong one. Much like a hoppier version of Arrogant Bastard - if you like AB and are a fan of the paler ales, this one’s perfect. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel is almost a bit too heavy. This is an incredibly well-balanced beer, though - great all around. HonkeyBra (1404), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Pours red, with a big tan head. Nose is a ton of great hops and some caramel. Flavor is hoppy, chocolatey, caramelly with a long, bitter finish. Awesome! nickd717 (1415), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Tap at Toronado. Opaque dark reddish-brown with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus and pine, sweet malt, and slight tropical fruit notes. Flavor is loads of sweet caramel malt, wood, and a citrusy/pineappley/resinous hop finish. Smooth, fairly full palate. Great stuff! jpaliga10 (7), Indiana, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Poured a deep dark amber, but had very low carbonation. Head was nearly nonexistent. Aroma was strong and appetizing, while flavor followed through with every promise the scent had made. A great beer. satan165 (620), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2008 very BIG beer but very well balanced! color is a murky red. reeks of booze and hops but comes across with a huge malt bill to back it up. this reminds me of a barley wine in some aspects, too huge to just be an IIPA. very substantial beer, and one not to be trifled with. impressive! chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 13, 2008 Aroma is malt and cranberries, slight alcohol. Pours dark opaque reddish brown, no head. Flavor begins malty/Carmelly sweet and spicy. finishes with a dry hop throat. Malt is rich and alcoholy on the roof of the mouth, hops are intense pine and spice. There is also a nice sweet cranberry/brown sugar flavor in the middle of the palate. Nice balance between the intense malt and and hops. Medium body, medium-low to medium drinkability. This beer kicks you in the face, not for the faint of heart. Still, really enjoyable. LtDan (538), Los Angeles County, California, USA

Anyway, if Hop 15 had special relations with Shark Bite Red, and had a baby, it would be Shark Attack Double Red Ale.
