Commercial Description:
Is it really safe to paddle out in our waters? It’s impossible to know for sure. What we do know is that this is an incredibly distinctive and bold American red ale that attacks your taste buds with lethal amounts of hops, which are balanced by a boat load of Crystal malt. If none of this fazes you, then maybe swimming in the shark filled waters is exactly where you belong. We’ll see you in the lineup!

Bottle from South Bay. Pours out a dark red color without much of a head, then out of no where it kind of gets a nice tan little head on it. Smell is full of hops, caramel, malts, sugars, grass, and a touch of citrus. Taste is similar, but it has alot of hops - very Pizza Port like, smooth yet brutal but that is what makes it good. Not as bitter as I thought it would be, but it is plenty bitter to satisfy hop heads. Really good stuff, and actually my glass went so quick, I had no idea what happened.

Courtesy of toncatcher. Pours a clean, ruby red body with a relatively sticky, beige foam. The aroma is quite earthy with notes of piney/peppery hops dominating. The flavor is bitter orange/grapefruit peel, juicy pine needles, sourdough pretzel, and a subtle chedder cheese flavor buried in there.

Tasted on tap at Pizza Port,Solana. Lots of Hops there, alcohol is well hidden, easy drinking, especially with cheese pizza, plenty of malt that went with the food well, some grass there as well, the best beer of the day!!

Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. I do like west coast red ales. Very decent hop. Lovely sweetish malts. Great hops. Lovely. Would drink this every day.

Bottle. Hazy red body with a nice creamy off white head. The aroma is caramel, berries, lots of fruit and lots of hops. Complex flavour of sweet malt, fruity hops and barley. Its leads to a fruity tasty finish. The body is smooth and creamy. The alcohol is very well hidden. Great stuff.
