ChazMania (317), Pasadena, California, USA Jul 31, 2006 Bottled from BevMo. For a straight ahead Red, I think this is good. Much more flavor than say Killians, but perhaps not as robust as a Rogue Red. I think it is balanced and very easy to drink. I have only been to the actual brewhouse once a year ago and need to get a trip down there as I know they make killer Hoppy brews.
DuffMan (2139), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 1, 2008 Bottle. Deep red amber, hazy, big orange-tinted frothy head with excellent retention. Spicy, hoppy, and toasty aromas, very enticing. Delicious sweet toasty toffee malt up front, lots of spicy and fruity hops make up the finish. This is a big beer despite the average ABV. Absolutely delicious! Brewsmith (82), Torrance, California, USA Nov 27, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Hoppy pine aroma and a little malty sweetness coming through. Amber red with a small off-white head. Some carmely malt character while still being firmly bitter. A fairly dry finish. Clean, not over the top, but still assertive. A good drinking amber. Nik925 (176), USA Nov 20, 2008 Strong flavor onset of hop and malt. Great balance but the bitter takes center stage and is almost out of control. Really bitter for an amber, but still keeps its delicious malt taste-able. One of the better showcases for malt as this one finishes as good as it starts. The flavor profile is similar to other beers in the middle, but when I get that taste, normally it then has a bad aftertaste, no so with this one. One of the best beers in this style easily. travita (808), Lewisville, Texas, USA Sep 23, 2008 Smell is malts, caramel, some hops, and not much else. Look is a red color and very clear. Not much of its beige colored head. Taste is caramel, malts, and hops. can8ianben (670), Pasadena, California, USA Sep 9, 2008 A lovely Amber with much more punch than the Ghost Shark. Hoppy and well balanced, syrupy and smooth without being too heavy.
