Hazy amber with a fast exiting white head. There was a nice complexity in the aroma with all the elements working in harmony: spices (ginger, coriander, pepper), citrus zest, honey, Chamomile, candied malt. Medium bodied with a tickle in the mouth. The flavor upheld the complexity of the aromas and was rewarding and refreshing. Just not my cup of Chamomile but I’ll recognize it’s excellence. Glowing orange with a white head that is easily replenished. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of carbonation. Slightly tart with more coriander, a lot of almost caramely malt, grape skin, herbs, and some melon, and yeast. Touches of ginger, tinnyness, and herbs with continued tartness in the dry finish. pineypower (1111), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is very interesting, somewhat sour with notes of caramel oats and chamomile tea. Taste is very complex and refreshing, almost like drinking a form of oatmeal. Taste is of some citrus fruit, chamomile tea, oatmeal and a well balanced sourness. Also picked up some notes of cinammon ginger and the mentioned black pepper, this is an amazing beer of a style I’m starting to like more and more. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA

Bright yellow-orange with a nice white head. Flavors of celery, citrus and lots of what I make out as cardemom. Lighter body and very drinkable. Thanks to Blake or Chuck for sharing. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 4, 2006 Bottle from my wife for my birthday! Hazy, bright and fiery orange in color with breaking grey ice sheafs forming the head and doily, cascading lace. Aroma is ponderous: some mildew farmhouse characteristics, barley sacks, grains of paradise, honey and ginger root hulled with ragweed, juicy oranges that are starting to spoil, and key lime pie. Some pillowy cotton and chamomile team with ginger-laden barnyard funk in the background. Flavor is one of a kind. Lemon shortbread levitates a lime juice compound. Sweet orange peel appetency meets ginger toffee drops. Grains of paradise do a nice mimicking mode of funky brett. Cinnamon and nutmeg are ever distant, but give a brown shadowed background to an otherwise tart and citric episode. Perfect effervescence with substantial substance beneath it all. Balance is the very definition of how many things can go into a beer and keep a balanced quotient. Lemon-lime drippings prevail in the finish, along with a ginger hotness that tingles the tonsils, souring and spicy grains and pepper pressing the palate, and sweet, sugary and light floral chamomile that comes in most prominently on the backend. An absolutely dynamic saison – big points to my lovely wife for landing this one for me! Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark

Quite odd. Dominating sourish camomile note in the flavor with notes of honey and yeast. Dry. Odd, but quite interesting. Ughsmash (4105), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Bottled. Poured a hazy, pale toffee with a short cap of off-white head. Nose was of a fresh fruit bouquet (lemon, pineapple, and apricot come to mind)... along with pils malts and a nice spice blend (kinda peppery). Crisp, effervescent fruits grace the tastebuds along with pepper, toffee, and a solid dose of alcohol astringency. A bit grainy on the palate with some sharp booze notes.. but refreshing. 1FastSTi (2591), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA

The aroma is nicely fruity, pineapples, lemons, grains of paradise, citrus, papaya, cloves. The flavor is fruity with mangoes, papaya, Belgian spices, pineapple. The palate is medium bodied and refreshing.
