Rich brown and red with a light brown head that settles fast. Aromas of dank apples and semi-sour caramel. Taste is sweet with maple and cherry, wheat, straw and grass.A real meal in itself and another feather in the cap for Tomme.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2006 Bottle sampled @ RBSG 05’ (Montréal) Post-Cidery Impromptu Hotel Room Tasting
Muddy brown, tan head, light lacing. Nose of sour yeast, sharp hops and creamy balanced malts. Nice funky bacteria blend for a Californian. Finishes nice and acidic (citrusy). Good. A bit of pool cleaner notes.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2005 Embouteillée à partir d’un growler. Batch 2. Merci Chris!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
RBSG 2005... Poured a mahogany red color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, fuzzy cherries, nuts, roast, smoke, caramel, and lychee(?). Taste of raisins, tart cherries, grapes, bananas, more spices, lots of dried fruits, a tad dusty, and finishing with light roastiness. Thanks cquiroga!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tough beer to rate because it is so unique. Flavors just jump out and come alive. Slight fruit in the the nose with some malty sweetness and raisins. Dark brown pour, very thick with a full mouthfeel. Rasins are continued in the flavor, with some molasses and farmhouse grass. Lingering bitter chocolate and hops. Unique. Thanks Rodger!

The aroma had roast, smoke, and a hint of dark fruit. The flavor had caramel, roast, and dark fruit. The beer poured a dark brown color w/ very slight head and lacing. The mouthfeel was full bodied and creamy. Thanks Tom Nickels!

corked and capped 75cl bottle, unknown vintage. Super dark color, slightly ruby highlights. Light tan head. Original aroma strikes me as oxidized, somewhat reminiscent of an Amsterdam alley(sewer)...I’m thinking this is most likely the Rosemary in the beer...not something I like...the sewage smell subsides...chocolate, raisin, hay market, earthy funk. some sour dank cobwebs, earthy spice...went pretty well with the pulled pork, I think it may have been even better if we had dumped the bottle into the crockpot! A bit warm on the tongue...interesting is the best thing I can say about this beer...but it just didn’t work well for me...

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 750. Poured a very dark brown with amber highlights. A thin light tan head on top. The aroma is raisins and toffee with a slight hint of dank moss and wood. There is a little tartness at the edges. The taste is a subtle raisin bread with some hint of soft spices like nutmeg. There are also some sour cherries and smoke in different drinks. There is also an earthy wet wood finish. Certainly interesting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark bbrownish amber appearance, modest head formation ( was an almost 72 hour old growler). Raisin and blackcherry, malty aroma, slight burnt caramel. Malty palate, dark fruit (blackcherry and cranberry) malts, dried toasted balance, clovey finish, sweet and vinous overall. Pretty interesting but not my taste.
