yespr (7817), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at Solana Beach. Pours black and with a lacing tan head. Hard roasted and coffeeish malt aroma. Flavour is hardroasted, light residual sweetness and a nice chocolate malty smoothness. Ends with a long lingering roasted malt flavour. Could have been mixed up with the tovarish espresso stout. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 25, 2008 Dark brown. Rich, thick, almost syrupy dark malt. Hints of toffee, coffee. Slight roasty nose with light plum. Off-dry finish. Theis (2495), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008. Black - brown head. Burned, roasted, barley, dryness, lactose, licorice, nice smooth, light smoked. Nice. 1FastSTi (2423), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Oct 23, 2007 GABF 2007. Pours to a very deep red body that looks black with a creamy dark brown head. The aroma is very grainy with lots of export styled roasted malts. The flavor is a roasted export style dry stout. Roasted dry palate. I liked this beer. kmweaver (2273), Nicaragua Oct 1, 2007 Draft @ Pizza Port - Solana Beach. Pours a dark brownish-black color; minimal light at the edges; medium brown head with great fine-bubbled lacing. Solid, roasted malts and milk chocolate in the aroma; some coffee. Medium mouthfeel: roasted malts, cocoa, and milk chocolate; standard stout profile (I didn’t get much of a foreign stout / lactic character from this): not too sweet, not overly dry or roasted, good levels of carbonation and density; quite drinkable, but nothing that really stands out. Medium, roasted malt and sweet chocolate finish.
