Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a black color with a tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with hints of chocolate. Roasted malty bitter coffee and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate finish.

Sample from Pizza Port Carlsbad. Strong coffee upfront, layered on creamy nitro body. Milky sweetness, nuts, and sweetish finish. Good, but doesn’t harmonize as well as it could have.

Draft. Poured clear dark brown color with medium tan creamy head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy roasted coffee and milk chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met.

On nitro tap at Carlsbad. Pours with a retentive creamy, nitro off-white-tan head over a clear dark brown hued body with red highlights. Aromas are huge coffee, lactose, chocolate, bready and toasty. Flavors are sweet, brown sugar, coffee, toasty, nutty. Missing body, but I have no idea where the 8%ABV is hiding. Creamy, lactose, but feels a touch thin. Tasty.

On nitro 3 oz. sample at Pizza Port (Carlsbad). Opaque, intensely dark brown with creamy tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and grain. Taste of cocoa, high quality light roast coffee, toasted grain, toffee and sweet dark malt. Medium/light body and low carbonation with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Pizza Port in OB. Poured into a pint glass; black pour with a small head (no nitro). Coffee and roast aroma. Flavor is moderately sweet mixed with coffee and roast bitterness. Cocoa and vanilla flavors as well. Slightly watery. Pretty tasty.

Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Black pour with a creamy light tan head. Aroma roasted coffee with lactose, chocolate, and more coffee. Taste is coffee with cream followed by chocolate, light underlying hop bitterness, and dry chocolate. Smooth, airy mouthfeel. Balanced and tasty sub-10% ABV coffee stout. Great beer.

Nitro at PPC. Clear deep ruby. Looking back. Nitro coffee foam. Nose is all coffee. Taste is straight up iced coffee with sugar added. Not my style as a non coffee drinker.

On tap at Pizza Port, Carlsbad, pours a dark black brown with a small head. Nose is all espresso and coffee, like being in a coffee processing plant. Taste is absolutely rich in coffee and espresso with chocolate. Carbonation is soft , texture heavy. Finish is sweet with some mild bitterness. A crowd pleaser, great after diner drink . Quaff Score 9 / 10
