COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It’s hard to believe we’ve been slingin’ pizzas for 20 years since March of 1987! That’s about 7300 days or 175,200 happy hours of fun! We’re excited to celebreate by brewing and bottling up a beer to share a special toast! Swami’s IPA is one of our best selling beers. Many have called it the original San Diego IPA. As such, it’s been a big part of Pizza Port Solana Beach since we installed the brewing system in 1992. A bold IPA hopped to the extreme with galena, Centennial and Cascade hops. We also add a healthy dose of dry hops in the serving tank and always serve it unfiltered. Thank you so much to everyone who has been sharing the memories along the unbelievable way...Cheers!"

Formerly 7.4% when brewed at Solana Beach location.

16oz can pours a golden color with a bit of head. Large hop flavor, citrus. Bitterness lingers. Refreshing.

Aroma of grapefruit, mango and tropical fruits, very cascade forward. Mouthfeel is really creamy like a good hefeweizen, very very good and impressive. Taste is quite hoppy, nice dry, and basically what you seek of an IPA, it doesn’t blow your mind, but there’s no real flaws, just a good balanced, dry, hoppy ipa.

50cl can. Bright yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma has hay, plenty of hops, citrus, resin, exotic (american) fruits. Taste is only moderately bitter with notes of caramel, pine, a dry hop finish and some oily alcoholin the finish.

A pale gold pours out of the can, and in tipping it to empty, a date of 10/22/14 reveals itself on the bottom. Fresh!! The soft, white head is slippery wet, not sticky at all, and goes from a thick layer on top to a small thin blanket that remains consistent to the end of the glass. The aroma is pine resin, some grapefruit and is slightly dank; the majority of which follows into the flavor profile. Bitter and dry, this lightweight brew stops short of being uncomfortably biting; instead, it finishes with a nice sticky palate, balanced and forgiving. The afterward is fairly short and the carbonation just right for this style, but the dry hops are going to be there long enough to kill the idea of having another review tonight. Not a palate wrecker, but definitely and obviously there for a while. Good beer!

This light gold beer has a nice sweet citrus hop aroma and flavor. It is a really good drinking IPA.
