"It’s hard to believe we’ve been slingin’ pizzas for 20 years since March of 1987! That’s about 7300 days or 175,200 happy hours of fun! We’re excited to celebreate by brewing and bottling up a beer to share a special toast! Swami’s IPA is one of our best selling beers. Many have called it the original San Diego IPA. As such, it’s been a big part of Pizza Port Solana Beach since we installed the brewing system in 1992. A bold IPA hopped to the extreme with galena, Centennial and Cascade hops. We also add a healthy dose of dry hops in the serving tank and always serve it unfiltered. Thank you so much to everyone who has been sharing the memories along the unbelievable way...Cheers!"

Formerly 7.4% when brewed at Solana Beach location.

Perfect example of san diego style ipa. Very clean and dry with citric hop flavors taking center stage. Very good stuff.

"tap as Swami Jo Mami...so many good Port IPAs they start to get muddled. This was very good as well, but didn;t stand out much in a crowded field. Big oine and bitter, with some orange and grapefruit. Good. not quite great."

Thanks to BLG for this. Pours a light gold with a big frothy white top. Aroma is light flowery and citrus hops. Taste is well balanced between light citrus and flowery hop bitterness, Light biscuity malts. Easy drinking great beer.

16oz can shared by JohnGonk. Poured a clear pale yellow color with a finger of frothy white head. Aroma of lemons, pineapple, grass, and pale malts. Taste of grass, grapefruit, citrus zest, hints of pine, and sweet malt.

Pours a light gold with nice big head. Aroma hits me before I even pick up the glass. Heavy aromas of pine and grapefruit, tiny bit of alcohol. You can tell this uses old school American hops. Flavor is all about the hops and matches the aroma. There’s some clean malty sweetness in there, but just enough to make you want another sip. Not heavy at all, it’s very refreshing and unflinchingly hop-forward. Finish is super dry with bitter hops. This is a true San Diego style IPA.

Cannette.

Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some very dank pine notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is full of pine, biscuit malt and orange citrus. The bitterness level is fairly high. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Can from CBB. Pale gold, small wite head. Big tropical aroma with hops and some citrus. Great bitter flavour, lots hop, tropical fruit and citrus. Bitterness has a slightly rough finish, but surprisingly solid beer. Wish I bought two!

16oz can pours semi clear pale golden yellow with a finger of head. Nose is more malt forward than expected, some round soft tropical fruit, orange, and lemon. Taste is medium bodied, malty fruit, lemon zest, bitter mango. Finish is bitter fruit, mango, citrus. Can is pushing 5 weeks old so not ideal but still holds up fairly well.
